‘Battlefield Hardline’ Second DLC Expansion to be Released Before the End of Summer

Barely four months after it was officially released on the gaming consoles and the PC in March this year, the first-person shooter video game “Battlefield Hardline” continues to draw critical reception from both gamers and critics.

In fact, when it was rolled out to the retail markets in the US in March, it came out as the best-selling video game in the country for that month, validating the rave reviews and praises that developer Visceral Games had gotten as a result of its work with “Battlefield Hardline.”

Unlike the previous games in the Battlefield series, “Battlefield Hardline” zeroes in on crime, heist, and policing elements, instead of military warfare. It appears that the developer wanted to get a piece of the delicious pie that the highly successful video game franchise “Grand Theft Auto” has been savoring for years. But Visceral is obviously a long ways to go to catch Rockstar and its world-renowned franchise.

Game critics praised “Battlefield Hardline” for its multiplayer mode, its voice acting, and accessibility while blasting the game’s plot, stealth, and narrative.

The first DLC

The first DLC of “Battlefield Hardline” came out on June 16, less than three months after the game was officially released on the gaming consoles and the PC.

Officially titled “Criminal Activity” and coming as Update Patch 1.03 to “Battlefield Hardline,” the DLC uniformly arrived on all gaming platforms bringing many changes in the game.

The new DLC gave players another opportunity to make a name for themselves as law enforcers in the fast-paced highly-destructible maps that are peppered with small-time criminal jobs.

The expansion brought along four new gameplay maps as well as a new game mode, a variety of weapons, new masks, new vehicles, new gadgets, new music tracks, improvements in servers, availability of battle log and battle log plugin update, bug fixes on gameplay, as well as weapon tuning, enumerates the PlayStation Lifestyle.

The DLC expansion has added new excitement to the game and thus sustaining the momentum of “Battlefield Hardline” that it has built up before, during, and even after its official release in March.

The better news

The better news for gamers is that Visceral Games has actually lined up four DLCs to come to the game within a year from the time of its official release.

After “Criminal Activity,” “Battlefield Hardline” is expected to take on its second DLC titled “Robbery” which would come out before the end of the current summer, notes Cinema Blend.

The upcoming expansion pack will enable players to take down the opposition head on and progress through key locations that are to be highlighted with major cinematic action for its backdrop.

After the release of “Robbery,” the third DLC for “Battlefield Hardline” will come out sometime in the fall. Officially titled “Getaway,” it will feature frantic and high-speed chases that shall immerse players deeper into the heist.

And finally, there is the fourth and last DLC before the game release officially turns one year in March next year which is called “Betrayal” due to be rolled out early next year. Based on its title alone, the fourth expansion pack shall focus on gamers finding out who the rat is in their operation, giving the game an added drama.

As a DLC, gamers have the option to buy the four separately or as one because Visceral Games has already made them available for purchase at once via the “Battlefield Hardline” Premium pack priced at $50. Each DLC, however, shall only come to their gaming platforms on the scheduled set forth by Visceral.
