Those trailers usually arrive well ahead of the game itself, so now would be a good time for EA to start bringing them out. If we don’t see anything released by the end of May or June, we wouldn’t expect an announcement for the game anytime soon either.
But of course, it’s not very hard to forge documents like the ones that were supposedly leaked, so fans should be aware that this could easily turn out to be a lie.
If that’s the case, we expect to see a revival of the discussions about the World War 1/2 setting. Some players are still engaging in those conversations actively as they are convinced that the leak was false.
And of course, we don’t expect EA to address the leaks anytime soon. The studio is known for being a bit secretive about their upcoming projects and it’s not easy to get a word out of them, especially when it comes to an alleged leak. It makes sense for them to stay quiet about this situation too, as they can actually benefit from the extra hype that the rumors have generated. EA is a company that knows how to work with its crowds very effectively, so we expect to see them taking at least some advantage of this situation if they can find a way to do that.
I’d be far happier with a near future war game than I would have been if it were World War I (which I would not have bought)
What a load of bull. People are not more interested in shooters set in the future or “modern games” Why do you think Hardline took such a dive? People actually like old warfare just look at Bad company 2, BF3, BF4 – these games are great, Hardline was pretty average and every COD after MW2 and Black Ops 1 has been an absolute flop. I would love to hear where you got the idea that people like these games more than games based on WW1 and WW2. The shooter market hasn’t changed at all, there are different ideas sure, but one thing is for sure, futuristic shooters have been the biggest let down of the last 2 years which is why BF should return to WW1-WW2 style.
