“Batman vs Superman” has been a highly anticipated movie, surrounded by a lot of hype. And its producers have certainly been doing a good job at keeping that hype up – about a year ago, they previewed a trailer for the upcoming film to a select small audience at San Diego Comic-Con, and they have kept quiet about the movie ever since. Those who got the incredibly lucky opportunity to see the teaser with their own eyes had only positive things to say – and it looks like we’ll soon get a chance to see a trailer for the film ourselves.
More specifically, there are rumors that a trailer for “Batman vs Superman” is scheduled for May 15, accompanying the release of “Mad Max: Fury Road”. While this is just a rumor so far, it does make a lot of sense, and we wouldn’t be surprised to see it turning out to be true.
There are multiple factors that went into choosing this date, according to sources – it’s not just about promoting the new “Mad Max” properly and giving it an extra boost, but the date would fall two weeks after the release of “Avengers: Age of Ultron”, and the trailer can piggyback on the leftover hype quite effectively.
If this happens, fans would be even more excited to see a trailer for “Batman vs Superman” at that time, as they will still be talking about the release of the new “Avengers”, but will also be hungry for something new in a similar style. The preview for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” also falls a few weeks before that, which should further add to the hype levels for the new trailer.
Warner Bros seem to have a pretty good idea for the promotion of the new film, and they apparently understand the importance of utilizing social media for their marketing. It might not be immediately obvious, but they are definitely counting on those online discussions for their success to a large extent – and there’s certainly nothing wrong with that.
In fact, most of their fans seem happy about the situation, as they feel more actively engaged in the film’s marketing and promotion, which in turn can add to its popularity once it comes out. It’s a self-feeding loop that can benefit both sides very effectively if pulled off right. And for now, we’ll have to wait and see if they have anything else special planned for their fans, or if the trailer that’s supposedly coming on May 15 is the main attraction for the time being. In either case, fans should be more than satisfied to see what the film looks like.
