We wouldn’t be surprised if people were more skeptical of Rocksteady in the future and approached their new releases with more caution, and the studio might have even lost some of its long-term supporters after this incident too.
Releasing a patch is the least they can do right now, and we don’t know if it will actually be enough to make up for the huge fiasco with the initial release of the game. Plus, the time it’s taking them to release that patch has also been seen as a bit of a bad sign by some players.
The general consensus is that if the studio needed such a long timeframe to properly fix the game’s issues, they must have known that it was in such a poor condition in the first place, and they had no right releasing it in that state.
But then again, this might have nothing to do with Rocksteady themselves. If the publisher is pressing hard for a certain release date to be met, then the studio can’t really do much other than play by their rules and try to get the game out as quickly as possible in order to meet their deadline. The gaming industry works in strange ways, and sometimes publishers end up causing a lot of harm with their tendency to rush projects.
