‘Attack on Titan’ Season 2 to Delve More on the Backstory of Obscure Character Ymir, Reveals Series Creator!

Directed by Tetsuro Araki, “Attack on Titan” was first aired on the Mainichi Broadcasting System from April 7 to September 29, 2013 and was subsequently aired on Tokyo MX, FBS, TOS, HTB, TVA, and BS11.

Japanese web streaming sites Funimation and Crunchyroll have streamed the series with subtitles on their respective sites. Funimation has also licensed the anime for home video release in 2014.

The first episode of the English version of “Attack on Titan” premiered at Anime Boston with the subsequent episodes put on Funimation’s subscription services. The English dub of the series has broadcast weekly on Adult Swim’s Toonami block beginning on May 3, 2014.

Season 1 of “Attack on Titan” consisted of a total of 25 episodes, whose English version aired from May 3 to November 1, 2014.

It also resulted in five bonus original video animation episodes that were released alongside select volumes of the manga that intermittently were released from December 9, 2013 to April 9, 2015.

In other words, the last time that the fans and viewers have seen the anime series on the small screen was on November 1, 2014 and that is the reason why they are now very excited with its upcoming release this year.
