The second season of the popular Japanese anime “Attack on Titan” is rumored to air in April next year and reports have it that the plotline would focus on the secrets behind the giant walls and the real past about the Titans, reports Game & Guide.
Eren’s father, Dr. Grisha Yaeger, is the one person who knows the answers to the mysteries surrounding the Titan’s emergence and existence. Accordingly, the secrets of the past were just behind the basement door of the house of Eren’s father and it is possible that the Season 2 might explore that plot and provide answers to the mysteries of the Titans.
There are also reports going around that the upcoming second season will also feature a love triangle happening in Season 2 involving Levi, Mikasa, and Armin.
But there are also rumors saying that Mikasa will be involved in a romantic relationship in “Attack on Titan” Season 2 but there is still no confirmation as to whom she might hook up with.
It has also been said that the love story of Eren and Krista, that began in Season 1, shall continue in the second season of the hit anime. Interestingly, there are also rumors saying that Krista may actually be the reason for the death of Eren later on.
However, all these supposed plots and subplots for “Attack on Titan” Season 2 are mere fan speculations and should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Shall veer away from the manga source material
“Attack on Titan” is based on a manga that was written and illustrated by Hajime Isayama. Earlier reports have been saying that the reason why Season 2 of “Attack on Titan” is taking a long time to come out because the anime wants the manga source material to move ahead by at least four story arcs before the TV series starts production.
However, the reports of late are now saying that Season 2 of “Attack on Titan” shall already veer away from the manga source material, which some critics find absurd, if not downright ridiculous.
Some are also saying that it would be foolish for the anime to veer away from the manga source material considering that the latter has already sold 62.5 million copies worldwide, indicating its global popularity.
The anime would surely benefit from the phenomenon that is the “Attack on Titan” manga so deviating from it would be a big risk on its part.
Eren is also a Titan?
There are also rumors saying that the second season of “Attack on Titan” shall feature the journey of Eren into self-discovery and he shall reportedly find out that he is a Titan himself, details the iTech Post.
According to speculations, Eren will find out right on the first episode of Season 2 of “Attack on Titan” that Zeke is actually his brother, which will force him to contemplate about his life.
Fans of “Attack on Titan” know that Zeke is the Beast Titan so Eren finding out a relationship with him would really be devastating.
The same reports are saying that Eren has long been a Titan because when he was still young, his father injected him with a serum that could ultimately turn him into a Titan.
Eren’s real motive for joining the Survey Corps shall also be explored in the upcoming season of “Attack on Titan” and that he will have his own mission in joining the team.
The consensus of the rumors is rife that the second season of the popular Japanese anime “Attack on Titan” will be released next year.
As for other possible storylines of the TV series, it has been reported that the second season shall explore the backstory of a gigantic ape-like creature called the Beast Titan.
