With so many new gadgets coming out in the gadget-verse, it is very difficult to put the spotlight on one particular gadget for a very long time, but the Taiwanese say different. This time around, Taiwanese computer peripherals manufacturing brand Asus which also entered the smartphone industry a few years back, has given a breathtaking addition to the smartphone industry at Consumer Electronics Show 2015 – The Asus ZenFone 2.
What really sets the ZenFone 2 apart from the other phones in this universe (Yes! You heard it right. The Universe) is that it will be boasting a 4GB RAM, which has never been seen before in the history of smartphones.
The Koreans have also had their plans of manufacturing 4GB RAM phones, but the Taiwanese have made it to this island the first. We might be seeing 4GB versions of the Samsung Galaxy S6 in the near future, just for your information.
Talking about the specs of the Asus ZenFone 2, the gadget will be featuring Intel’s Atom Z3580 Chipset that will obviously be backed by a 64-bit Q-core processor clocked at 2.3 GHz. Everything apart, the feature that will make this phone negate all competition is the 4GB RAM. Though the launch date for this 4GB variant has not been announced yet, the world has already had a hands-on preview of the 2GB Variant of the same phone.
Instead of Quad HD Display, Asus has decided to opt for 1080p full HD IPS display for its 5.5inch smartphone. All in all, the ZenFone 2 comes packed in an awesome-looking box along with a rounded killer design. The volume rockers have been strategically placed on the sides, and the backside has a complete metallic frame.
However, the front bezel and the entire body are made out of plastic. If you are wondering what OS is packed in the bundle, it is the Android 5.0 along with ZenUI update. Backed by all these superb elements and the trust factor of an Intel Processor, the phone is going to give a butter-like user exp.
Talking about the camera, the ZenFone will feature a 13 MP rear camera that is capable of capturing videos in full HD and a 5 MP front-facing camera, which can take selfies like a pro. Presently, the 2GB Variant of this phone is available at $199, and the 4GB Variant will be made available in the future at a higher price with some enhanced specifications as well.
According to sources, Asus also showcased another phone at the CES 2015, the ZenFone Zoom. The only difference between ZenFone2 2GB and ZenFone Zoom is that the latter is a bit slimmer than the former, and its rear camera is capable of 3X zoom, which is not possible in the former.
