‘Arrow’ Season 4 May See Possible Transformation of Felicity Smoak into Oracle!

Episode 10 of Season 4 of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” will premiere on January 20 on The CW, and reports have it that there will be a transformation of a major character.

Most of the members of Team Arrow have already transformed themselves into their superhero alter egos with the exception of John Diggle, played by David Ramsey, and Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards.

The second half of Season 4 of the widely-followed “Arrow” will be the time when Felicity will be making a big change in her life, based on the recent trailer of the TV series meant to hype up its upcoming mid-season premiere.

Speculations have been going around that Felicity could be taking on the role of Oracle when “Arrow” returns because Damien Darhk, played by Neal McDonough, will paralyze her from the waist down, notes the Christian Post.

In the original DC comics, Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Jim Gordon of the Gotham Police Force, was shot by the Joker that left her paralyzed. She then became the Oracle, who is a computer hacker who feeds information to other superheroes. It is likely that Felicity will be the same character, which is actually what she’s doing for Team Arrow at the moment.

Also in the comics, Oracle became the leader of a female superhero team called as ‘The Birds of Prey,’ which includes the Black Canary and the Huntress, two members of Team Arrow.

Thus, the chances of Felicity finally turning into a superhero herself are high during the second half of Season 4 of “Arrow.”

Running after the villain

The promotional trailer and the synopsis of episode 10 titled “Blood Debts” also showed Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, running against Damien Darhk after the villain attempted to kill Felicity.

It can be recalled that during episode 9, Darhk attacked Oliver and Felicity so the Green Arrow will be looking for some payback as he hunts their assailant, notes Comicbook.com.

According to the episode synopsis, Oliver Queen must deal with the devastating consequences of Darhk’s last attack. Seeking revenge, Oliver goes on a brutal manhunt looking for Darhk.

However, it seems that the Green Arrow will be up for more misfortune. The trailer also showed Oliver stranding in front of a tombstone looking very forlorn which means that he will be losing someone whom he cares a lot about.

Definitely not his last

Season 4 of “Arrow” on The CW is currently on its customary winter break so other than speculations about possible spoilers in its mid-season premiere episode on January 20, 2016, rumors have also started swirling that the current season will be the last for lead actor Stephen Amell.

Amell has been playing the role of Oliver Queen, a.k.a. the Green Arrow, on the top-rating “Arrow” TV series since 2012. The show actually started the DC universe on TV that resulted to two spinoffs on The CW already in “The Flash” which began in 2014, and the upcoming “Legends of Tomorrow,” set to debut on January 21, 2016.

“Arrow” has also partially set the stage for the movie based also on DC Comics, “Suicide Squad” due to hit theaters in August this year.

So when rumors started swirling around that Season 4 of “Arrow” is going to be the last for Stephen Amell as he is planning to cross over to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it hardly caused alarm bells on Warner Bros, The CW, or the DC Comics people. Apparently, they are very confident that Amell is a DC guy and will remain one in the years to come.

Arrow Season 4

The rumors about Amell bolting the DC fence and jumping over Marvel began when he recently interacted with fans on social media. He actually dealt with some 90,000 inquiries.

During the highly entertaining video, he was asked by fans about the possibility of playing a Marvel Comics superhero. Instead of shunning it directly, Amell gamely said that he was more than willing to take on a part in the Marvel Cinematic Universe if he was approached with an offer.

  1. this is not completely accurate tho. Digg already have his alter ego. He become “Spartan” and I´m pretty sure they´ll give Felicity a brand new alias. lets see… they could make her Oracle, or maybe just use some Oracle storylines… they will make Calculator her father. who is a Oracle/Birds Of Pray villain. or maybe Proxy (Calculator´s daughter. Also a tech genious)
