‘Arrow’ Season 4 Episode 11 Sees Felicity Smoak Evolving into Superhero Overwatch!

Episode 11 of Season 4 of the American superhero drama TV series “Arrow” was aired on The CW on January 27 and it featured Felicity Smoak, played by Emily Bett Rickards, evolving to become the superhero that she was destined to be in Team Arrow.

It could be recalled that during the fall finale of Season 4 of “Arrow,” the Ghosts of Damien Darhk attempted to assassinate Oliver Queen, played by Stephen Amell, and Felicity while they were onboard a stretch limousine, following the public announcement of Oliver that he is determined to become the mayor of Star City.

The mid-season premiere of “Arrow” aired on January 20 showed Felicity wallowing in self-pity after she was paralyzed after the shooting.

But during the following episode, she has finally figured out her place on Team Arrow now that she is a paraplegic.

Felicity battled through her self-pity and paralysis to once again become the badass computer hacker and genius that fans of “Arrow” have come to love. Emily Bett Rickards succeeded in showing her old hacker Felicity and blending the new superhero Felicity.

Oliver eventually bequeaths the superhero nickname Overwatch on Felicity and told her that he was going to call her Oracle but the name has already been taken, details Forbes.

Oracle is also a DC character but the TV broadcasting rights to it belong to NBC for the TV series “Gotham” based on Batman comics.

Another criminal organization

But the plot of episode 11 focused more on John Diggle, his wife Lyla, Amanda Waller of A.R.G.U.S, and Dig’s brother Andy.

While Digs and Lyla were out on a date, an A.R.G.U.S. agent seeks them out for assistance but he is kidnapped before he can tell the couple what is happening. Digs and Lyla confer with Amanda, who denies any knowledge of what happened.

Walker, however, gives Lyla a portable hard drive that reveals that the A.R.G.U.S. agent was taken by an organization known as S.H.A.D.O.W.S.P.I.R.E. , where Andy Diggle used to be engaged in as well.

It turns out that Shadowspire is an organization of crooked military personnel that A.R.G.U.S. had supposedly taken out of commission and that Andy had worked for in the past, prior to joining Damien Darhk’s Ghost.

Eventually, Shadowspire ambushes A.R.G.U.S. including Amanda Waller and Lyla. The organization’s underboss Lt. Joyner, played by Erik Palladino, gets duped by Digs and Andy, and re-ambushed by Team Arrow so everyone walks out okay.

But the real strength of the episode was Felicity and she stood out as the MVP during the episode for Team Arrow. Oliver and the rest of Team Arrow sort of took a backseat during the episode and there was not as much going on as far as the Damien Darhk plot is concerned but there were still plenty of action as well as mysteries to carry through to the next episodes, details What Culture.

A big twist

The twist in episode 11 is that Shadowspire is actually an organization run by Baron Reiter, the head honcho on Lian Yu in Season 4’s flashbacks. This means that Andy is mixed up with him and Darhk and both men seem to be basically waist deep in bad mysticism and black magic.

It would be interesting how Season 4 of “Arrow” would tie everything together and answer all the mysteries.

Arrow Season 4

Season 4’s biggest cliffhanger has yet to be answered, though. It can be recalled that towards the end of the first episode of Season 4, Oliver was kneeling on a tombstone while Barry Allen, played by Grant Gustin, the alter-ego of The Flash, stands in the background. There was a tear welling in the eyes of Oliver.

The question is who was it that died that is close to Oliver. The speculations are aplenty on the internet on who the character would be. The sad part of that death is that whoever dies in Season 4 will stay dead as confirmed by executive producer Marc Guggenheim in a recent interview.
