Arnold Schwarzenegger is one of the mos recognizable names in the movie world. He was many different things in movies and there are two movies from the 1980’s that were cult classics. Those movies were called Conan The Barbarian and they were released in 1982 and 1984. Since then, fans of Arnold were wondering if there were ever going to see the actor in a sequel for the movie. The problem being those movies came out more than 20 years ago and a sequel now might be a little tougher to write.
According to sources, however, Arnold Schwarzenegger is gearing up to become Conan once again in “The Legend of Conan”. The sources are claiming the the writer for the new movie, Chris Morgan, took part in a conversation on a Arnold Schwarzenegger fan site and it was there that he talked about the details surrounding the new movie. As you can imagine, that brought the internet to a halt as the loyal fans took to Twitter and other social media to sound off.
Chris Morgan said in the discussion that the goal was to have a “logical extension of the character” that was established back in the 80’s. This is going to be a very tough thing to do and even the loyal fans are going to be leery about how Arnold Schwarzenegger is going to look so many years later. He is older and even though he still has the muscles that made him famous, the age is going to be something that fans might not be able to get passed.
Specifics for the movie were not given, as usual, but he did say that the latest addition to the movie series is going to take place in the same locations and regions that the first two were filmed in. Arnold Schwarzenegger is apparently also not the only big name to come from the original movies. According to another source, at least “three big names” from the original cast will be included in the new movie. Schwarzenegger is 67 years old now and has been as busy as ever with the Expendables franchise among other movie titles. As it would be a great honor for Arnold to frequent the fan site, he made a comment about the conversation himself as well.
He stated that it was great to be 67 years old and still asked to come back to all of these franchises that made him famous years ago. Apparently, Arnold has been trying to get Universal Studios to remake the popular movie for the last 20 years, but they did not share the same excitement that he does. Arnold has been in and out of the news over the last few years and most notable would be his separation from Maria Shriver.
