Ariana Grande is not letting anyone ruin her new year. A recent encounter with a fan of her boyfriend Mac Miller left the 23-year-old pop star disgusted.
Grande recently took to Twitter to explain what really went down with her and Miller’s fan. According to the “Focus” singer, she and her beau were getting some food when a fan approached them.
Ari added in her statement that the fan looked very happy to see them and almost sat next to them in the car. However, he took things too far when he said to Mac “Ariana is sexy as hell, man, I see you; I see you hitting that.”
Clearly, the singer did not take that as a compliment and said that the comment made her feel sick and objectified. She adds that comments like that are what contribute to women’s sense of fear and inadequacy.
The “Bang Bang” hitmaker added that women need to be vocal when men objectify them because if they don’t, it will just continue.
She adds that women are queens and that women should never allow anyone to make them feel like an object.
The songstress also addressed her lengthy statement to all her haters who suggest that how she dresses and dances leave her open to sexual comments.
Ari declared that she is not a piece of meat and that expressing sexuality in art is not an invitation for disrespect.
Her tweet saying ‘wearing a short skirt is not asking for assault’ garnered more than 106,000 retweets and liked almost double the number of retweets, coming from the more than 43 million of her followers on Twitter.
When a fan asked Grande about Miller’s response, she replied that he immediately drove away and gave the sweetest words for her boyfriend.
The rapper and the pop star have been officially dating since last September albeit being rumored to be together for a couple of months prior to that after they were spotted kissing in a restaurant.
They recently dropped a music video for their collaboration “My Favorite Part” off Miller’s most recent album. “The Devine Feminine.”
The “Problem” songstress also released the funky animated video with her duet with Stevie Wonder for the song “Faith,” as part of the soundtrack for the animated film “Sing.”
The duo first sang the song love earlier last month during the season finale of “The Voice” Season 11.
The music video features a slew of animated animals, first as chalk drawings then as the animated characters in the film.
The film, which opened on Christmas day, follows a colorful cast of animals as they compete on an “American Idol”-style TV show and overcome their personal issues.
Meanwhile, the former Nickelodeon star announced on New Year’s day that she will be featured in the mobile game “Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius.”
She shared a photo of herself with the game makers of “Final Fantasy” and captioned that she’s so excited to finally tell all her fans her secret.
After encouraging her fans to check out the mobile game, she then shared a video of a computer screen depicting 11 versions of the avatar, which dons her signature black bunny ears and can belt her signature high notes.
On New Year’s Eve, a day before her big announcement, she broke out to her bunny ears hinting her foray into the world of mobile role-playing games.
On Christmas day, Grande was also part of the line-up for the iHeart Jingle Ball 2016 along with Justin Bieber and EDM duo, The Chainsmokers.
