She says that she fell in love with Penny the first time she watched the original play when she was only 11 years old and being able to portray her is already an honor. Grande adds that she wants to play Penny the way the character was written.
The upcoming live musical, based on the 2002 Broadway musical of the same name, is scheduled to be broadcast on NBC television on December 7, 2016.
