Apple Watch OS 2 Brings Various Cosmetic Improvements, Some Usability Changes!

Apple have been hard at work to bring a new update to their Watch users, and even though they were forced to delay the official release by a while due to a critical bug, some reviewers have already managed to get their hands on the new software and have been releasing their opinions about it. From the looks of it, Apple have indeed improved the overall experience in the operating system, but most of the changes have been on the cosmetic side, with the functional improvements being slightly less impressive.

The Watch now works really well with iOS 9, according to reports and there are various features on both ends that make this a smooth, well-integrated experience with a lot to offer to users. The operating system is also more responsive and intuitive to use, which is certainly great to hear because people did have some comments about the speed of loading apps and other elements to the snappiness of the OS.

Right now, it’s pretty fast and more usable as an operating system for a wearable device, but at the same time some critics did claim that even more could be improved to make the Watch OS feel better and faster overall. After all, Apple are known for the smoothness of their interfaces and it’s the one thing the company knows how to do best, so they should definitely focus on that aspect of the usability of their Watch OS as well.

There are lots of cosmetic improvements in the operating system now, and users are given more customization options to truly make the Watch theirs. For example, there are more options for customizing the standby screen, and it’s even possible to see animated slideshows of various towns around the world.

It’s now also easier to scroll through the Calendar thanks to a new feature called “Time Travel”, and even though the interface for that feature reportedly looks nice and smooth, some reviewers have been questioning the actual usefulness of the feature itself, calling it a cosmetic gimmick more than anything else. Still, considering that the whole Watch is supposed to be a cosmetically pleasing experience, it’s good to see that Apple are at least putting a lot of effort into developing it even further in this aspect.

On the functional side, some have noted specific improvements in Siri, which have generally been seen as a very positive development by Apple. In an age where other companies have started to really offer some serious competition to the functionality that comes with Siri, it’s good to see that Apple can still manage to live up to the ever-growing expectations and deliver a product that people can enjoy using. There are various things that an owner of an Apple watch can now ask Siri to do, and the device is shaping up to be a very good personal assistant, as well as an overall solid wearable gadget that should offer a lot to those who know how to use it.

Still, some have noted that the device is not without its flaws, even when using it with the Watch OS 2. There are various moments where it lacks responsiveness, particularly when it comes to using its voice commands, and the operating system can still benefit from some improvements on the functional side, according to reports. It does look like the new major update brought a lot to the table and introduced various reasons for people to take a second look at the Watch, but there is still some room for improvement.
