Apple Rumored to Be Preparing the iPod Touch 6Th Generation for a June Reveal!

But the idea is that if the new iPod Touch does include Force Touch, Apple could use it as a test bed for integrating the technology into their mobile phones and portable players more effectively. It’s going to take a few tries to get it right, most likely, and doing that on a less popular device like the iPod Touch could be a great move before moving on to the iPhone.

In the end, it makes sense that Apple would want to stop making iPods, but the same can be said for the opposite scenario as well. There is still a lot of merit in the idea of having a separate music player, and it’s actually starting to see a revival as a trend lately, as more and more people have been using their players during sports.

If Apple – or someone else – designs a music player that’s also an adequate sports device, that could easily fill a niche that’s been in need of a fill for quite some time now, and could be a winning product on the market.

  1. Forget ipod touch plus and make a baby Ipad just over six inch in size + pocket and purse friendly and then you have a product that will be a long term success story as IPODLET. The current Ipad mini is just too large to be called by that name and I have despised that size because of the absence of a smaller sibling and I have never understood the stupidity of the company’s thinking of denying us a smaller pocket /purse friendly device….except perhaps the fear that it might have stolen the thunder of the iphone somewhat in an indirect way….but I cannot see how that would affect the saleability of these devices
in a world where people are crazy for the Apple brand name to such a degree that they would not care….not to forget the affluence aspect of apple customer base.
You can then have an ipod touch of about 4.5 or 5 inches for the younger folks and others who prefer the smaller sizing of the media friendly gadget… It would pay Apple to actually re-think a few of these size issues and think of the long term values of their product base.

  2. As I have been mentioning. Yes apple will launch a new ipod touch 6 as it will be a very big mistake if another company decides to launch a new audio player to challenge them. And if done the right way with a detailed planning for all the parts needed they can succeed. Unless apple launches its new ipod touch or at least lets the information out. It is not a good thing.

  3. iTunes has got to still be a cash cow, and not everyone can afford a cellular plan thanks to Obamanomics. Then there’s Apple’s purchase of Beats, a headphone company. With all signs pointing to their continued presence in the music business, it would seem prudent to put out a flagship music player again – and silly to discontinue the line.

Of course, this is wishful thinking on my part: I just put my iPod Touch through the laundry, frying it.

A previous commenter brought up an interesting possibility: an iPad Micro or something like that. iPod Touch by a different name.
