Apple iPhone 7 Rumored Coming in September, New Speculation about Camera Capabilities!

According to the latest rumors, Apple already have a date set for the release of the iPhone 7, as the company is aiming for September 8. According to the same rumors, they are planning to hold an event in Cupertino or San Francisco, where they will make the big announcement and reveal the full details about the upcoming smartphone.

If nothing else, the rumors at least make sense with regards to Apple’s previous releases, as the company has the “habit” of launching their new devices every second Tuesday in September. There are also rumors that put the phone’s release date at September 18, at least for the UK.

It’s also worth noting that some rumors are claiming that the new phone will not actually be called the iPhone 7, but rather the iPhone 6S. Would that make sense? It depends on what the device will offer exactly. If it’s not a very serious upgrade over the iPhone 6 in terms of specifications, it could definitely be a smart move to release it with this model name. On the other hand, it would mean a new year without a new iPhone, which would be a bit strange for the company.

On the other hand, the “S” in the names of Apple products is traditionally associated with budget releases, something which would be a bit strange for the new iPhone. Is the company really planning to make their only iPhone release for 2015 an entry level version of the iPhone 6? Sure, it’s just a rumor so far – but Apple have shown that they are changing their style a lot lately, so it’s possible that we could see them taking on a bold new strategy.

There are also new rumors about the camera of the phone, claiming that will come with an even better sensor than that of the iPhone 6, capable of capturing some very impressive photos, the best that a smartphone could make nowadays. Specific details haven’t been given yet, but the camera is rumored to have two lenses and be capable of producing DSLR grade photos.

Its sensor size could be anywhere from 13 to 20 megapixels, according to the current rumors, but in Apple’s case that’s hardly ever so relevant – the company usually does a lot of work on the phone’s image processing capabilities in order to ensure that the pictures still come out good; they don’t put so much effort into actually developing a larger sensor, as this doesn’t directly improve image quality in most cases. So, what exactly the new iPhone will be shooting with could vary a lot, but in any case, it’s very likely that Apple will ensure that it’s an upgrade over what the iPhone 6 offered.
