Other rumors claim that the device will borrow the Apple Watch aluminum for the construction of its body. More specifically the 7000 series aluminum used in the Sports edition of the watch. Apple currently have an exclusive license for use of the material, so they would be smart to implement it in all their devices as much as they can, at least in situations where it makes sense.
After all, Apple users might have something against the idea of every one of the company’s devices eventually moving in this direction, but it would definitely be a good move to see the material used in more of their devices than just the Watch.
Touch ID is rumored to be getting improvements for the new device as well, with rumors that Apple want to have it built directly into the display. Right now, the sensor is beneath the Home button, but such a design change could definitely improve the usability of the device in cases where the user needs to authenticate.
