The rumors in that area are specifically talking about an iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, and that could make sense in light of what Apple have been releasing so far. On the other hand, there is some tendency in the market for people to pay attention to smaller, more compact devices lately, so this could also be a possibility.
It does seem very likely that the iPhone 7 could come with its own “partner” though, and the trend to release multiple versions of a device has been getting more and more popular lately, so Apple could definitely follow suit and do something similar again.
Last but not least, there are also talks about a new Apple Watch coming up, but that one is probably far too early to talk about, especially given the mixed opinions about the current device.
People did like what they saw in the Apple Watch on one hand, but on the other, there were lots of minor issues with the device which took away from the reception towards it. Because of this, Apple might want to take some more time to evaluate the market and further probe people’s opinions about the previous Watch before they decide to release anything new, especially if they want to make it a more major release.
