Apple seem to be stepping up their work in the mobile department as the company is reportedly going to be more regular with their releases, but we don’t know how this will reflect on their overall strategy. There have been some rumors that they might be looking into cutting out some of their current devices, so we don’t know what they are actually planning right now and what we might see in the next few months.
Currently, the company is said to be working on the iPad Air 3, even though it wasn’t long ago that they brought the new iPad Pro to the market. The current rumors state that the device could arrive to the market as early as March next year, which would paint an interesting picture for the company’s future plans and their release timeline.
That’s partly because Apple’s fans already expected to see a new iPad Air during this season, but after the company didn’t make any such revelations on their September 9 event, people shifted their focus in another direction. We did get to see the new iPad Pro instead, but the iPad Air was completely absent from the show. This of course didn’t stop fans from speculating, and they kept discussing the possibility of seeing the iPad Air 3 on the market in the near future.
What could the device bring to the table? Quite a lot, actually – there have been rumors claiming that the new iPad Air is actually going to be a serious tablet, despite continuing the trend of being really small and lightweight. It could come with a much more powerful processor than its predecessor, while at the same time it could also be much more efficient in its power utilization and could have more RAM, internal storage as well as other features that could bring it very close to some high-powered tablets on the market despite its small form factor.
The iPad Air has always had a very specific direction with the design of the devices in that line, and Apple have been trying to maintain the slim design and easy portability of these tablets with every release. It’s interesting to note that they’ve mostly managed to do that successfully, despite the fact that they’ve actually added a lot to its hardware over the years and the iPad Air of today is nothing like its predecessors.
It’s interesting to think about where this line could end up, as Apple have been putting a lot of effort into their engineering, and the company has been achieving some amazing things with the devices. They’ve reached the point where they can easily stuff a lot of hardware into the iPad Air 3 without compromising the slim design of the device, and the company could even make a tablet that’s as powerful as the more popular offers by their competitors without really having to stray away from the slim shape and light weight.
Are they going to manage to release the next iPad Air in March 2016 like the rumors are saying though? That’s hard to tell right now, but many people seem hopeful that the company will handle their development properly and get the device ready for the market in time. They are currently enjoying a lot of attention, and people would definitely love to see a new iPad Air around March, especially if the device comes with great specifications that really push the line forward and expand on what we’ve seen before successfully.
