Apple iPad Air 2 Successor Might Be Here Sooner Than Expected, Can It Follow the Success of the Last Device? Let’s See

Apple’s iPad Air 2 was quite the successful release, stunning many people with the performance that it delivered while managing to retain the slim form factor that the line is traditionally known for. And while it’s not the most powerful tablet on the market, it definitely attracted a lot of attention and generated a lot of discussion about Apple and their current work. The company clearly has some specific direction with this line, and they have been moving towards an interesting combination of features.

It’s no wonder that there is already some talk about a potential successor to the device, and according to some of the rumors that have been going around, it might actually come out a bit sooner than some people are anticipating. Indeed, if the rumors turn out to be true, we might be looking at an early 2016 release, as the company is additionally rumored to be trying to actively compete with Samsung on the market for compact tablets.

Both companies have something good to offer, and Apple also have the benefit of a more developed following of fans who have been actively pursuing the company’s activities and are always interested in seeing another release by Apple. Because of this, the company can easily afford some flexibility in what they are doing and their market presence likely isn’t going to fade anytime soon, even if they make a mistake or two in some places.

And this has allowed Apple to be a little more creative with their projects and they are prone to inserting some very interesting additions to their devices with each installment in one of their lines. This wasn’t that extreme with the iPad Air 2, admittedly, but there are some high expectations about the iPad Air 3 and what it might bring to the table.

However, it’s also interesting to note that there have been reports indicating that people are becoming somewhat less interested in purchasing a new tablet. Surveys have been coming in with relatively low percentages for potential buyers for a device of this type, and this has prompted some to think that companies like Apple and Samsung might take on a more dramatic approach with their designs in order to stand out from the competition.

The iPad Air line is original enough in its basic idea, and the first two devices have already managed to cause quite the commotion on the market, but on the other hand, some critics are arguing that this might not last too long if Apple don’t introduce something more noteworthy in the next device in the line. There are different suggestions for what that should be, and Apple themselves are of course not sharing any information about their plans. That’s pretty typical of the company, and we don’t expect to hear much from them regarding the iPad Air 3 until the device is basically ready to hit the market.

The rumors about the specifications of the iPad Air 3 vary from source to source, but most are claiming that the device will still have a 9.7 inch screen, but with a higher resolution than before. This has been an attractive idea for some, but others apparently see it as a potentially worrying detail as it could mean a faster battery drain. Of course, we have no idea if Apple are planning to also upgrade the battery of the device, and that’s a possibility, so it’s not out of the question that the iPad Air 3 might come with relatively similar usage times when fully charged.
