Android 5.1.1 Lollipop Released for OnePlus One, Rolled Back after Serious Complaints!

That’s particularly true when the update seemed to be focused primarily on security improvements, which means that any potential issues in it could be related to the users’ privacy and safety, making it that much more important to ensure that everyone is aware of what they have on their devices.

OnePlus have generally been suffering from some issues with their public image and popularity lately, as the company’s launch of their second device was a bit underwhelming for the expectations of many of their fans. Many people apparently expected to see something more advanced from the device.

The problem, according to some critics, is that OnePlus simply raised the bar too high for themselves with the release of the OnePlus One, a device which is still being talked about with regards to its performance and capabilities in light of its price.

While on the other hand, the OnePlus Two felt like a cheaper phone that doesn’t really impress with anything specific, and people felt like the company was trying to profit mostly from their name at this point. But doing that after just one successful release and hoping that it will work seems pretty senseless, so hopefully that wasn’t actually the idea that the company was going after, and those rumors are incorrect in the end.

  1. I’ve been running Cyanogen OS 12.1 since it’s release last week, no real issues to speak of. Pretty smooth. Wonder what issues others are having.

  2. I’m part of the 2% who got the update, and as far as I can tell it works just fine…

(And I’m definitely a power user)

  3. I too am a part of 2% I too don’t have any major issue as such.. But minor issue like dial numpad gets overlaid by other upper layer so 1 2 3 are not visible and battery issue which I am facing before this update only.

  4. I got the update and don’t seem to have any obvious issues. A friend also did and is complaining of touch screen issues especially, but sites “many other problems”.

  5. Problems after 5.1.1
    1)heating quicky
    2 draining battery very fast
    3 fast charging gone
But customer care offered some solution and it helped.
One can call OnePlus one Customer Care technical support. Though what they advised was sounding stupid but it worked.

  6. Battery probs..LTE connection probs in india..apps failing…initial update removed system theme, had to format n reinstall..variety of bugs…

  7. I am part of the 2 percent and found this update to be overrally very nice, except for the horrible battery life, i only get 2 hours of on screen time now

  8. I have to say, I have not experienced many major problems beyond things that were meant to be. The dialer is a joke and is a huge step backwards vs the Google dialer available in previous versions. I understand Cyanogen is trying to distance themselves from Google. However the method for finding contacts on your dialer is reminiscent of how I did so on my flip phone so many years ago. Until recently I was certain my next device would be rooted and Cyanogen installed. Not anymore. I can’t believe such a great cutting edge company would expect users to settle for this junk. II want to smoke what they were smoking if they thought this would be an upgrade. Do what Google does better, and if you can’t…. Use theirs.
