Android 5.0.2 Lollipop Rolling Out to Samsung Smartphones Almost Every Other Week

Buyers and users of HTC One M9 however are entitled for a free update to the Android 5.1 Lollipop if they so wish. It is likely that the decision of HTC to update almost all of its devices to Android 5.1 Lollipop is to ensure that it keeps abreast with the competition.

The HTC One M8 predecessor, the HTC One M7, shall also update straight to Android 5.1 Lollipop from Android 5.0 Lollipop. There have been previous reports that the company will no longer be updating the mobile operating system of the HTC One M7 so that users can already decide on retiring it and replace their handsets with the newer HTC One M8 and the HTC One M9.

But it seems like the Taiwanese tech company is giving users of the HTC One M7 a reprieve, at least for now. Apparently, the decision of the HTC was in response to the violent reaction of many of the HTC One M7 users because without the Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware update, their handsets will continue to be riddled with bugs and issues that have been associated with the problematic Android 5.0 Lollipop.
