The 10-episode anthology series is set to be a depiction of the events that transpired on July 15, 1997, when the Italian fashion designer was shot dead on the steps of his Miami Beach mansion by Andrew Cunanan.
Cunanan shot himself eight days later and was revealed to have murdered five people over the course of three months. His motives for killing Versace remain unknown.
The season will make the “Born This Way” singer’s first appearance on the crime anthology series, despite having a major role in Murphy’s “American Horror Story: Hotel.”
Screen Crush notes that Lady Gaga and Versace also have a strong working relationship. The pair walked the red carpet during this year’s Met Gala. The “Perfect Illusion” singer also fronted Versace’s Spring 2014 campaign.
In Lady Gaga’s 2013 album “Artpop,” she dedicated a song to the fashion mogul titled “Donatella.”
The third season of “American Crime Story” is expected to start production after its second season and is slated to premiere in 2018. Although this may not go ahead.
This means that the “Bad Romance” hitmaker has a busy 2017 ahead of her. She recently released her fifth studio album titled “Joanne.”
Her new acting gig adds up to her upcoming Super Bowl halftime show performance and her upcoming remake of “A Star is Born” alongside actor Bradley Cooper.
