Alien 5 to Come Out Later as Neill Blomkamp Needs more Time to Finish It, Prometheus 2 Coming First!

Though it was previously reported that the production of “Alien 5” was going according to schedule and the film was going to be ready for its intended release date, now we’ve been hearing some slightly different reports that paint a different picture. Apparently, the new film is going to take some time to be ready, as Neill Blomkamp has been trying to add some important additional touches to it that are going to take a while to fully implement.

Meanwhile, Ridley Scott has been working hard on the sequel to “Prometheus”, and it will likely be ready before “Alien 5” comes out. Some fans had been hoping that they would get a chance to see the new “Alien” first, before “Prometheus 2” hits the screen, but now it doesn’t seem like that will be the case. Of course, it doesn’t matter that much in the grand scheme of things, as both movies will still focus on completely different things and shouldn’t interfere with one another.

Indeed, we previously got reports that Ridley Scott and Neill Blomkamp were in discussions over how they could avoid stepping on each other’s toes as much as possible. The two directors realized the similarities between the films they were working on, and wanted to make sure that there would be no harmful overlap between them in the end. Which is good, because this is a factor that has been worrying to some fans – it would indeed be quite disappointing to see one film end up being just a retelling of the other’s story.

And while this may sound like a bit of a stretch, the somewhat similar premises of both films indicate that it’s not actually so much out of the question. At least if the two directors don’t take the necessary precautions to ensure that their work doesn’t overlap, which they have already been doing in the background anyway. We don’t know the exact nature of their discussions or what the potential problems could have been, but it’s probably safe to assume that they’ve already gone over all possible clashes between the two plots and have come up with a story that will work well for both films.

Another problem that has been pointed out by some observers has been a possible clash of the schedules of some people involved in both productions, but it doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen. Even now that we’ve heard about a delay in the production of “Alien 5”, this should still not lead to any trouble in terms of organizing everyone to be present at the same time. Of course, knowing the way this industry works, it won’t take much for an unexpected conflict to pop up, but hopefully it will be resolved efficiently.

The people attached to the project obviously have a lot of dedication to see it through and put all the effort they’re capable of into it, so we don’t expect any nasty surprises on that end.

Quite on the contrary, we would expect “Alien 5” to be even better than what was planned before now that the film will take more time to complete. We don’t know the exact nature of changes that are going to be implemented within that extra timeframe, but we can only imagine that Neill Blomkamp has something quite interesting planned for his fans if he needs so long to actually make the film a reality.
