Barely a month into 2016 and it seems like pop singer Adam Lambert will have his hands full for the rest of the year.
Fresh from completing his commitment in rendering his music to the latest TV commercial of chocolate chip cookie Oreo, Adam Lambert has reportedly agreed to be part of a made-for-television remake of the 1975 film “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Reports have it that the TV special will be aired on Fox in the fall of this year and Adam Lambert has signed on with the project to play the role of Eddie, a rock n roller who is clad in a leather attire, details the Day Herald.
Meat Loaf once portrayed the role of Eddie during the 1975 film. Adam Lambert will be joining a stellar cast for the TV remake of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” including Victoria Justice, Reeve Carney, Staz, Nair, Laverne Cox, and Ryan McCartan.
Victoria Justice and Ryan McCartan are to play the roles of Janet and Brad, respectively. Reeve Carney, who has become familiar on TV with his role as Dorian Gray in the horror TV series “Penny Dreadful,” will play the role of Riff Raff.
Laverne Cox shall take on the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter while Staz Nair will star as Rocky Horror, notes Deadline.
Making the announcement on social media
It was actually Laverne Cox who made the announcement by posting the news on her Twitter account and tagging Adam Lambert on it.
She also posted that she is super excited about the film and can hardly wait for the start of its production because she really thinks that it is going to be full of fun.
It will not be the first time for Adam Lambert to appear on a TV show or series though as apart from getting his first taste of boob tube exposure during Season 8 of “American Idol” back in 2009, he has also guested in “Glee.”
Like the rest of the cast, Adam Lambert is also excited to be a part of “The Rocky Horror Picture Show” because he said that he has grown up watching the show and could have never imagined that he would ever get to star in a remake of it.
Before being given the role of Eddie, Adam was actually considered for the role of Dr. Frank-N-Furter, but because of his love for music, Eddie seems to be the more appropriate fit for his character.
“The Rocky Horror Picture Show” remake is to be directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega to be produced by Fox21 Television studio.
One-night performance
Speaking of Fox, Adam Lambert is also set to perform, for one night only at the Foxwoods Resort Casino on February 26.
Lambert will hit the Grand Theater stage and will showcase his third critically-acclaimed studio album “The Original High” featuring his latest hits including “Whataya Want From Me,” and “Ghost Town.”
Foxwoods Resort Casino is the premier entertainment, gaming, shopping, and hotel destination in the American Northeast.
The place is hosting a star-studded lineup of entertainment acts for the whole month of February and offering guests with a wide selection of entertainment including concerts from music sensation, hilarious stand-up comedies, and nail-biting Muay Thai fights that will have audiences on the edge of their seats.
The Grand Theater and the Fox Theater guarantee to take the entertainment experience to new heights with their top-of-the-line acoustics and dazzling lighting, details Musicworld.com.
Meanwhile, Adam Lambert now has a TV commercial and it’s no other than Oreo chocolate cookie. The TV commercial started airing on January 18 and is part of the ‘Open Up with Oreo’ ad campaign.
It has been the dream and fantasy of Adam Lambert to record a song for a TV commercial and he finally achieved it with Oreo.
Given his stature in the international music industry, Adam Lambert is not the type of artist who will grab onto an offer immediately after it is presented to him.
Apparently, the ad campaign’s great message of acceptance ultimately attracted him to the campaign.
