Abigail Spencer Takes Men to School on How to Properly Wear a Tuxedo, More Details

In between breaks for her many acting assignments on TV and on films, Abigail Spencer has been a regular fixture in many awarding ceremonies and celebrity events lately.

On the evening of November 4, she was spotted at the 30th-anniversary celebration of the SAG Foundation held at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills, California, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

Abigail joined other big-name celebrities in the event including Leonardo DiCaprio and Diane Kruger.

While the “Rectify” and “True Detective” actress has always been scintillating and a photographers’ favorite on the red carpets, she caught the attention of nearly everyone in the event when she arrived wearing a Ralph Lauren black brocade tuxedo, complete with a matching brocade bow tie.

What fashion enthusiasts note about her ensemble is the fact that Abigail Spencer wears the tux better than most men do. Her cool tux has taken the look to new heights. She kept the outfit from looking too masculine by adding a classic red lip, sparkly David Yuman earrings, and silver minimalist heels. Best of all, she took most men to school on how to properly wear the classic tuxedo.

Award-winners

Abigail Spencer, along with Ashley Rickards, were among the two female celebrities who received accolades at the 11th Annual LA Femme International Film Festival Awards held on October 18 at the Los Angeles Theater Center, reports the Abigail Spencer fan website.

In addition to Spencer and Rickards, two other female celebrities were honored at the Awards Show and Gala event including Ivonne Coll and Patricia Velasquez.

Spencer received the Rising Star Award for “Oz the Great and Powerful” and “True Detective,” while Rickards got the New Establishment Award for her role in the “American Horror Story.”

Abigail’s award is being given to newly recognized independent filmmakers who create innovative pieces of film and also for being an established actress who has recently crossed over in creating a multi-faceted talent of tremendous artistic force.

Ashley’s award was given because she is an actress who chooses to create diversity awareness through her character choices.

Right reasons to celebrate

Perusing through the Twitter account of actress Abigail Spencer, one can’t help but notice that the actress seems to be enjoying herself these days going into events and being photographed at the red carpets.

Abigail has all the right reasons to celebrate as the American drama TV series “Rectify” where she stars in, has already been renewed by Sundance for its fourth season, amid its insanely low ratings.

Notwithstanding the series’ performance during its first two seasons, Season 3 of “Rectify” actually got ratings that most networks would not dare keep a TV show on the air with. It was averaging only 160,000 viewers per episode. Networks are cancelling TV series left and right if the shows don’t have 1.5 million viewers or more but “Rectify” is standing still and tall.

In fact, the “Minority Report” TV series on Fox, which has 2.45 million viewers on its last episode, is reportedly on its way to being cancelled already so it is almost absurd to see “Rectify” still holding firm. No wonder the show’s actors, including Abigail Spencer, are proud of the show, not for its poor ratings but how some critics think that it is a good TV series more than anything else.

“Rectify” also happens to be Sundance TV’s first wholly-owned scripted series so the TV show is basically a network pride. Besides, as a sister company of AMC, which is packing it in the ratings game on cable television with its “The Walking Dead” series, Sundance no longer needs to compete for ratings and money.

While it is true that “Rectify” may be low in terms of number of viewers, but the TV series is definitely high on a lot of incredibly worthy things including beauty, wonder, and humanity.
