Jennifer Aniston may have lost out on her recent chance at winning the Golden Globe, but the actress doesn’t exactly seem phased by the whole ordeal. While many were expecting her to show anxiety and worry over the upcoming Oscar nominations, Aniston actually responded to the situation in a quite different manner – she showed nearly complete indifference. She was actually joking about getting a reminder about the nominations on her phone, and wondering what that was all about.
Aniston was nominated for the Golden Globe on Sunday, but didn’t end up winning the prestigious award – and it seems that right now, the actress doesn’t even care about her Oscar nominations too much. She’s taking a stance of “whatever happens, happens”, for what it’s worth, and doesn’t seem too fond on answering any questions about the situation from the press.
At the same time, many critics and her fans seem to have rather high expectations for how the actress is going to perform in the nominations, with many expecting her to actually receive a nomination for her role in “Cake”, where she had the leading role. According to most who’re following the Oscars closely, the actress has a very good chance of receiving a nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role, although there are other contenders who seem very likely to get nominated as well. Aniston, meanwhile, has stated that she will be in bed during the event, and doesn’t plan on watching it closely.
Meanwhile, Mujah Maraini-Melehi, widow of Aniston’s ex-husband, has been expressing her disapproval of the actress publicly, with regards to claims she made about her relationship with the now-deceased Daniel McDonald. According to the widow, Aniston’s statements that McDonald was “the one” for her were deeply insulting, as Aniston was allegedly not by his side when he was fighting brain cancer, and Maraini-Melehi felt very strongly on the topic. It’s not known if this is a one-time event or if she has been harboring feelings towards Aniston for a while.
Aniston and McDonald had a marriage that lasted five years during the 90s. After their separation, McDonald passed away from brain cancer in 2007. Aniston recently talked about her marriage in an interview, claiming that she regretted losing McDonald and that he was probably “the one” for her, but she was “too stupid” to see the truth back then. Apparently, the statement didn’t resonate too well with McDonald’s widow, who has strong feelings on the issue, particularly towards Aniston. Jennifer Aniston herself hasn’t made any comments in response to the statements, though given the sensitive nature of the argument, she would likely be wise to refrain making any comments at all.
