The freemium mobile strategy game “Clash of Clans” is now on a tightrope as far as its rank in the list of top mobile video games in the market today especially in light of the remarkable and sustainable resurgence of the mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go.”
It did not help the cause of Finnish game developer Supercell to make sure that “Clash of Clans” maintains its grasp to its already dwindling number of gamers when it failed to release the promised updates to the game last month.
So from a supposed September release date, “Clash of Clans” shall now have an October update. As of late, the reports have been saying that a preview of the updates will happen this week before its official it officially comes out on October 11.
However, there are also rumors saying that the latest updates could come out either in November or December but certainly before the end of this year, notes Game & Guide.
Many critics believe that if Supercell fails again to release an update to “Clash of Clans” this month, it would surely court gamers’ ire and will redound to a negative impact on the mobile game which is now under serious threat from competition in its highly competitive segment.
The reports about the October updates being previewed this week came from Anoushka, one of the staff of Supercell, when she recently said that the updates to “Clash of Clans” will be introduced according to plan, as if saying also that the updates were not meant to be released in September in the first place.
Anoushka said that neither she nor Marika stated that the update to “Clash of Clans” would go live in September for sure. She added that it may as well happen in October so she asked fans to just hang in there because they are already working on it.
What gamers should expect
Although the exact release date of the “Clash of Clans” update is still vague, the features it will offer are also the same as those reported for the rumored September updates, notes the iTech Post.
However, there are also reports saying that the updates could include a Town Hall 12 but some gamers are also stating that it would be very difficult to have such new addition because it would be such a big and rather a heavy add-on
While fans can now expect a new “Clash of Clans” update before October 12, experts believe that a delay could still happen. However, players are hoping that its roll out will not be extended until November or December.
Because of its delayed release, the updates to “Clash of Clans” would really be substantial and it would surely give the loyal gamers really something to chew on.
Major expansion coming
From previously being the most popular game on mobile devices in the world, “Clash of Clans” has lost its grip to the title with the arrival of the mobile augmented reality game “Pokemon Go.”
Amid the rampage of “Pokemon Go,” Supercell launched a massive ban among players who have been using bots to create cheats on “Clash of Clans.” As a result, a number of “CoC” players have started migrating to “Pokemon Go” or other mobile games, especially those innocent ones who were also banned.
But the decision of Supercell was meant more to cleanse the game of bots and it successfully did. Apparently, the massive ban was a prelude to a major expansion finally coming to the game this month.
Apparently, it is part of the strategy of the Finnish game developer in order to keep or increase the player’s interest in the game and possibly bring back those who migrated to “Pokemon Go” or other mobile games.
The hype that the game developer is putting on the October updates has made it one of the most highly-anticipated updates to “Clash of Clans” this year and the millions of fans and players of the game are now waiting for it.
