The Annual Longmire Days event in Buffalo, Wyoming really gives the upcoming fifth season of the American Western crime drama TV series “Longmire” major promotional mileage for its eventual airing on Netflix around the fall of this year.
More importantly, it is in the event where fans of the hit TV series got the opportunity to rub elbows with the stars of the show as well as the men and women behind “Longmire.”
The fifth Annual Longmire Days began with a parade on July 8 that was highlighted by the small talk of novelist Craig Johnson, the writer of the best-selling novels where the TV series is based on, reports the Christian Today.
The cast of “Longmire” took part at the Occidental for a late-night jam to wrap up the first day of the event on a very high note.
The following day, they entertained fans and signed autographs at the Cowboy Carousel Center, and also had the episode screenings of “Longmire” at the Buffalo Theater on the same day.
Book signing
The third and last day of the Annual Longmire Days was highlighted by Craig Johnson and Robert Taylor, who plays Walt Longmire in the TV series, signing books at the Johnson County Library.
With filming for Season 5 of “Longmire” already completed as of the start of this month, both the fans and cast members are already very eager to catch the show on Netflix on its reported September air date.
However, there are also reports saying that Robert Taylor and Katee Sackhoff, who plays Vic Moriarty in the TV series, will need to do some reshoots, which may be an indication that the rumors about the two getting romantically linked in Season 5 are now getting a good leg to stand on.
Incidentally, Lou Diamond Philips, who plays American native Henry Standing Bear in the TV series, has already shared some photos of the production team celebrating the end of filming for “Longmire” Season 5, notes Game & Guide.
He captioned it by saying that it is a beautiful final day at the Red Pony and continual soiree. Philips also ended his post with until next season, indicating that “Longmire” could go beyond Season 5 contrary to earlier speculations that the upcoming fifth season could be the last for the show.
Fans do not think so
Season 5 of “Longmire” has yet to have an official premiere date on Netflix but the consensus of the rumors are that it could make its debut his coming fall.
However, there are also rumors saying that the upcoming fifth season could be the last for the show. But many of the show’s fans would like to believe that because there has been no confirmation yet about the show’s future beyond Season 5, it could still go on for a couple more seasons beginning with the fifth season.
Talking about the show’s cancellation after Season 5 is a little too early, according to some fans but once it becomes available on Netflix, it will be ready in one whole bundle, just like most Netflix shows like “House of Cards” and “Orange is the New Black.”
Reports also have it that it is likely that Netflix will drop the first official trailer of “Longmire” Season 5 in the coming summer.
Of late, the most persistent among the “Longmire” Season 5 plotline rumors are those claiming that Walt Longmire will finally have a romantic relationship with his deputy Vic Moriarty.
However, there are also rumors saying that it would be absurd to see Longmire and Moriarty hooking up because of their age difference that they actually looked more like a father and daughter team.
The rumors about Walt and Vic finally happening in the fifth season of the TV series also appear off-course from the Season 4 finale which saw Walt having that romantic interlude with Dr. Donna Sue Monaghan, played by Ally Walker, before it was cut short by a burglar.
Some fans and critics also believe that the romance between Walt and Vic will never come into reality as Walt is obliged to support the son of Donna.
