The fifth episode of Season 5 of the American science-fiction thriller drama TV series “Person of Interest” entitled “Shotseeker” will air on CBS on May 17 and it promises to be another exciting hour of pumped up TV watching.
Based on the synopsis of the show’s fifth episode, the Samaritan will have a new target who is going to be a New York Police Department analyst. Apparently, the NYPD analyst will be investigating a certain case and it would catch the attention of the Samaritan.
Through a software glitch, the Samaritan will become interested in the analyst and a protector comes to the rescue in the person of John Reese, played by Jim Caviezel, details the International Business Times of Australia.
The episode shall also feature another plotline involving Elias. While he is already dead, his spirit in the TV series still lives on because one of his friends is actually out to avenge his death.
His friend will apparently get upset about Elias’ death that he will be threatening Reese and Lionel Fusco about it. Fusco, as fans know, is the one who was responsible for the death of Elias so whether he pays for it or not would be an interesting thing to find out in “Person of Interest” Season 5.
A different person already
Back in episode 4 that was aired on May 10, Root, played by Amy Acker, and Sameen Shaw, played by Sarah Shahi, have reunited as Shaw managed to escape from the shackles of her captors.
Although she is already free, the team is still skeptical about her mental condition after she exhibited actions where she seemed to be reckless and paranoid, leading them to speculate that she may no longer be the person whom they know, notes Yibada.
In a recent interview, actress Sarah Shahi revealed that her character in “Person of Interest” is coming back in a Shaw-centric installment where they will find out where she has been and what has been going on with her in the past nine months.
The actress also said that Shaw has an agenda but no one knows what it is. She also disclosed that she has done some action sequences in Season 5 of “Person of Interest” which she was not able to do during the past season.
Shahi eventually said that she no longer wants to give away too much but she hinted that the next episodes will enable the viewers to know what really happened to her over the last nine or 10 months, which is the length of time that she has gone missing.
More about Root
The fifth season of “Person of Interest” shall display more character development for Root, whose real name in the TV series is Samantha Groves.
She is the Machine’s main user and operator so if there is anybody who can fix the computer system, it is no other than Root.
During the ComicCon event held recently, actress Amy Acker confirmed that the fifth and final season of “Person of Interest” will focus on the relationship of Root and Sameen Shaw.
Shahi also confirmed during the same event that her character shall be more dynamic in Season 5 of “Person of Interest.”
Season 5 of “Person of Interest” has been shortened to make up only 13 episodes and according to co-showrunner Jonathan Nolan, the TV series shall have a not-so-happy ending.
The first four seasons of “Person of Interest” saw the show having 22 episodes apiece. The storylines for Season 5 have apparently been condensed to fit into 13 episodes.
Meanwhile, the second episode of “Person of Interest” had a hilarious opening scene where two characters mimicked each other.
Season 5 is going to be the final season for “Person of Interest” and showrunners Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman made the announcement about it in March.
