‘Doctor Who’ Season 10 to Feature the Long-Awaited Return of Immortal Captain Jack Harkness!

The original immortal in the British science-fiction TV series “Doctor Who,” Captain Jack Harkness, played by actor John Barrowman, is set to make his long-awaited return on Season 10 slated to premiere on BBC One in the spring of next year.

The glaring hint of Captain Harkness’ return came no less from the actor himself when he posted on his Facebook page that the Face of Boe might be back on the screens sooner than expected.

It can be recalled that the snarky sex magnet Captain Harkness dropped off the TARDIS radar following the conclusion of “Torchwood,” details Enstarz.

Incidentally, the actor also showed up in Cardiff recently for a book signing and reports have it that he is set to return to the “Doctor Who” home base later this month.

In a recent post on social media, Barrowman teased that she will be back in Cardiff in about 10 days but he does not want to disclose what it is for.

Despite losing to Chanel Creswell of “This Is England ‘90s” for the Best Supporting Actress plum in the recent BAFTA TV Awards, actress Michelle Gomez, who plays Missy in “Doctor Who” was still in high spirits.

While being interviewed on the event’s red carpet, she said that she was so excited that she was having a hard time stringing sentences together because she was blown away with the nomination. She also said that she was grateful for it because she thought she was in “Doctor Who” just pissing around so she can’t believe that she got the nod from the critics for playing Missy, reports Radio Times.

When she was asked what kind of evil fun would she be bringing in Season 10 of “Doctor Who” when she already has a companion in Bill if she has been given the green light to do so, Gomez said that she is just a meat puppet in the show.

She explained that she is not the one with the ideas. Michelle said that it is executive Steven Moffat who is the genius of “Doctor Who” so she really has no idea where her character is headed on the upcoming season of the popular TV series. But if it would be up to her, Missy would just give Bill a big hug, drawing laughter from the interviewers.

As it is, Missy is not yet sure of returning to Season 10 of “Doctor Who” but the actress is hoping to have another adventure in space and time with the popular TV series.

She added that she cannot speak for the “Doctor Who” powers that be because they keep their cards close to their chest.

Production for Christmas special

Even before Season 10 of “Doctor Who” airs in the spring of next year, a Christmas special is set to be aired on BBC One on December 25 this year.

Steven Moffat recently confirmed that they are set to begin filming for the 2016 Christmas special of “Doctor Who” before this coming summer.

It is not clear if Captain Jack Harkness will be part of the Christmas special of “Doctor Who” but fans and viewers would really love to see an interaction between the original immortal and Peter Capaldi’s cantankerous regeneration.

“Doctor Who” is currently on its year-long hiatus but Twelve and his brand new companion will burst onto the screens in time for the 2016 Holiday Season. And following the TV show’s annual Christmas special, Season 10 will air at the start of spring of next year.

“Doctor Who,” the current TV series, is an evolution of a British TV program that was produced by BBC from way back in 1963.

It is the story and adventures of the Doctor who is a time-travelling humanoid alien as he explores the universe onboard his sentinel time-travelling space ship.
