While developer Game Freak has yet to confirm or deny reports that the highly-anticipated role-playing game “Pokemon Z” on the Nintendo gaming consoles is not going to be released this year, the gamer excitement on the game is still remarkably high.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the first “Pokemon” game ever so it would have been really great if Game Freak and The Pokemon Company could have released the “Pokemon Z.”
Unfortunately, the game is still in development at this time and the earliest that it can come out to the Nintendo gaming consoles is next year. However, to offset the fan thirst for “Pokemon Z,” Game Freak decided to launch two new games in the “Pokemon Sun” and “Pokemon Moon.”
Reports have it that the two new game titles will be released at the same time this year not only in one area but across the globe and shall even be available in certain languages.
Tsunekasu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokemon Company, said that the two games will enable players from around the world to interact through friendly competition.
The executive also alluded that having two games instead of one is certainly better for gamers, without specifically mentioning anything about the “Pokemon Z.”
While it has yet to announce a specific launching and release dates for “Pokemon Sun” and “Pokemon Moon” the tease clearly indicates that both will happen this year as Game Freak cited that everything comes together in 2016.
The “Pokemon Sun” and “Pokemon Moon” games will come to the Nintendo 3DS gaming console and the speculations are rife that it could officially come out during the Holidays of 2016.
A continuation of ‘Pokemon X and Y’
Going back to “Pokemon Z,” reports have it that it is going to be a continuation of “Pokemon X and Y,” notes Neurogadget.
And just like its predecessor game, “Pokemon Z” is likely to feature monsters from “Pokemon X and Y” and shall also have the Pokemon League Champion.
The Pokemon League Champion is a tournament where the gamer fields a particular Pokemon to battle various creatures sent into the contest to do battle by Team Flare, which is a criminal organization.
Since “Pokemon X and Y” is the first Nintendo-published retail game to get a worldwide release for the important regions, it is likely to be the same when “Pokemon Z” is finally released next year.
A concept that fans would not let die
There have been rumors as of late that Game Freak has already abandoned its plan to develop “Pokemon Z” but it looks like those speculations are inaccurate.
Despite reports that “Pokemon Z” will not be coming out this year, some fans are still hopeful that the game will do. It seems like “Pokemon Z” is a concept that fans would not just allow dying a natural death, notes the Gospel Herald.
Apparently, some fans are optimistic that “Pokemon X and Y” would have the most obvious third tie-in, which would be the letter Z, like the Pokemon creature called Zygarde.
Based on the full-length feature of the video game on the Japanese gaming magazine CoroCoro, “Pokemon Z” shall feature the mysterious legendary Pokemon named Zygarde. Zygarde is said to be the fusion of two legendary Pokemons from “Pokemon X and Y” – Xernaes and Yveltal.
Zygarde first appeared in “Pokemon X and Y” and gamers believe that as the main protagonist to the successor game to “Pokemon X and Y,” “Pokemon Z” is sure to be epic as the new Zygarde will be.

I love Pokemon as much as anyone… but why won’t people just let Pokemon Z die? Since X any Y came out in 2013, they’ve not confirmed a thing about that game. No production date, no included characters, no gameplay info, NOTHING! This game will not be happening, and I don’t know why it’s as hyped up as it is, especially since Game Freak has never even commented on the game, whether or not it will be happening.
