World of Warcraft Top Performing Guild Paragon Calls it Quits on Entire Raiding

One of the top guilds of “World of Warcraft” Paragon, has announced that they will be shutting down shop when it comes to competing for world firsts in the game’s expansion pack titled “Legion.”

The famed Finnish mega-guild, which was responsible for multiple world-first “World of Warcraft” boss kills, will be dropping out of the raid game entirely.

According to Game Zone, as a Finnish-only guild, they found it difficult to have enough players that could speak the required language and had the equal level of commitment to the game needed to be some of the best in the world.

The announcement came last week via Paragon’s official site where guild leader Seita posted a short statement saying that they have decided to stop raiding which means that they will not be a part of the world first race in “Legion.”

Seita said that it was a lengthy discussion and they have considered many options but in the end, their decision came between going international, playing with suboptimal Finnish rosters, or quitting.

Personally, Seita is considering going the international route but decided that it was not worth the trouble.

The question had been looming over their heads for a long time as it has always been a challenge for them to get a solid Finnish 20-25-man roster together.

Paragon’s achievements are impressive, to say the least. The guild was able to get many of world firsts on the most recent content of the online role-playing game. A list of Paragon’s achievements and their kills are listed on their official website.

They are usually, at worst, second behind rivals Method, another guild who has now split in two after it had met troubles of their own.

Kotaku says that Paragon treated new “World of Warcraft” bosses like dominoes, lining them up and knocking them down one by one with calculated fury.

The guild saw their best success during the “Cataclysm” and “Mists of Pandaria” cycles, where they picked up multiple world firsts including heroic mode Garrosh Hellscream.

The Finnish guild specializes in Heroic 25-man raids. As per PC Games, in “Wrath of the Lich King,” they were the first to beat Anub’arak and the eponymous antagonist himself.

In “Cataclysm,” they were the first to bring down Nefarian, Sinestra, Ragnaros, and Al’Akir. They also command several 10 and 20-man records for “World of Draenor” where they picked up the world first on mythic Imperator Mar’gok in Highmaul.

As for what’s next for Paragon, Seita says they have no idea if they will be playing “World of Warcraft” in any capacity in the future. They will have to see what will be the situation when “Legion” launches.

Seita closed the statement by thanking everyone who played in progress raids with them and making them one of the top guilds in the hit game possible.

The guild leader also invited their fans to see some of them in the fields of “Overwatch.” There was also a final kill video of Paragon from “Warlords of Draenor” which could possibly be their last ever.

Paragon’s departure came as a punctuation to the online game’s decline. Reports say that the game already lost subscribers last year, with new expansions providing only short-lived spikes in activity.

The decline in subscribers led game developer Blizzard Entertainment to use black-box subscriber figures entirely, which only compounded player concerns.

Blizzard is set to launch the latest content for the popular MMO which is “World of Warcraft: Legion.”

“Legion” is the sixth expansion to the role-playing game following “Warlords of Draenor.” It was announced during last year’s Gamescom.

At Blizzcon 2015, the release date for “Legion” was revealed to be September 21, 2016, which is roughly six months from now.
