The release of the HTC One M9 is one of the biggest events on the Android scene recently, and for a good reason – the previous device in the line, the One M8, was an instant hit and went down in history as one of the most powerful, solid Android phones. The M9 is shaping up to be just as much of a powerhouse, although adapted for the time that has passed since the release of the M8, and it’s now packed with even more powerful hardware. On the other hand, it’s likely that the device will retain the same price point as the M8, although a price increase would also not be surprising, given the new specifications of the phone.
HTC haven’t said anything about the device’s release date yet – at least not officially. Plenty of rumors have been circulating the Internet, and right now, the most popular expectation is that the phone will be launched sometime in December, possibly right before the holidays begin. This would coincide with the company’s previous release trends, so it’s expected that the company would choose to release the phone at the Mobile World Congress.
The HTC One M9 is going to feature a slim, lightweight design, despite having some very serious hardware beneath the surface (and on the outside as well, if one looks at the screen). With a Snapdragon 805 SoC processor and 3 GB of RAM, this phone is no toy, and it can easily run any app the user throws at it. The HTC One M8 was a very popular phone among Android “power users” who frequently work with complex, advanced apps that require serious resources, and it’s likely that the M9 will win the hearts of tech-savvy users just as well.
It’s also reportedly a good phone for photos, at least a better deal than the M8, as it comes with a bigger, better camera and increased storage. Overall, HTC seem to have improved the phone’s design in every way they could, and the M9 will be a fantastic device for those who know how to use it.
And if it comes out on the market before Christmas begins, it could make for a perfect last-minute gift for those with geeks in their families. Of course, the HTC One M9 won’t be a cheap device – the M8 wasn’t, and this has an even more powerful hardware configuration – but at least buyers know exactly what they’re paying for, as they’re not just investing in a solid phone, but also long-term support from HTC, who have proven that they care about their customers and are willing to go the extra mile to satisfy everyone.
