The rumors may just be riding on the coattails of the recent coronation of Filipina Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach as the new Miss Universe but speculations are rife that she is being considered as a new cast member of the sequel to “Frozen,” the most successful animated film of all time.
The reports about Pia being considered to be given a role in “Frozen 2” started coming out when Disney artist Jimmy Mulligan recently ‘Disney-fied’ the newly-crowned Miss Universe and posted it on his Instagram account.
The Disney artist apparently turned Pia into a Disney princess. Then on his second post, he turned Pia to look very much like Queen Elsa of “Frozen” and then he captioned it with a hashtag #Frozen, details the Parent Herald.
Just a tribute and expression of gratitude
While it may just be Jimmy’s tribute to the Filipina Miss Universe and his many Filipino friends, some immediately took it to the rumor mills and interpreted it by deducing that Disney is considering Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach for a role in “Frozen 2.”
The intention of Jimmy Mulligan for his sketches was quite clear when he also posted on Instagram his gratitude to all his followers. He made a special mention to all his Miss Universe gang and his Filipino friends and fans for their kindness and support as it mean the world to him.
Apart from being a bit on the absurd, it should be remembered that Idina Menzel and Kristen Bell have been both confirmed to return as voice actors to the sequel where they shall be reprising their respective roles of Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.
So it does not make sense to even consider having Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach or any other new artist to come in and just take over the role of any of the two lead protagonists in “Frozen 2.”
But for the sake of considering the possibility that the new Miss Universe is indeed being considered by Disney for a voice actor role in “Frozen 2,” it will definitely come through a new character and not a replacement of an old one.
A chart-topping soundtrack is a must
One of the reasons why up until today many still remember “Frozen” as the most successful animated film in history is because of its chart-topping song “Let It Go” from its excellent soundtrack.
Reports have it that the sequel shall also focus on having the same in order for it to have a strong memory recall among fans just like the original film.
It was actually film critic Robbie Collin who alluded to the possibility when he was quoted in a recent interview that sisters Queen Elsa and Princess Anna will sing a duet about being stronger together while they are being kept separate by some villain or evil force.
Collin also expects the song would take a verse and line about their situation and then come together for a big, soaring chorus.
It seems that Collin’s theory has a good leg to stand on since Disney is also big on movie soundtracks and songs which is why “Let It Go,” sang by Idina Menzel, is still being crooned by both kids and adults alike, more than two years after the showing of “Frozen.”
“Frozen 2” is still years away from its release date but rumors and speculations about the sequel to the most successful animated movie of all time have become sort of staple food on the internet with practically daily doses about it.
There have been plenty of interesting rumored plotlines and cast members to “Frozen 2” as much as there are also absurd theories.
