Gamers of the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) “World of Warcraft” have been talking about the upcoming expansion pack called “Legion” since the successful holding of the BlizzCon 2015 in Los Angeles, California early in November.
While the expansion pack is not even set to launch until the middle to late next year, it seems that gamers can hardly contain their excitement over “Legion.”
As if to spice the wait further, game developer Blizzard Entertainment has been making announcements on what it plans to do with the popular multiplayer game if and when the expansion pack finally arrives next year.
One of the interesting things that Blizzard will be changing is the Player versus Player (PvP) mode of “World of Warcraft” that Destructoid actually describes as making the system get closer to the Vanilla era.
Some of the expected changes on the PvP mode of “World of Warcraft” include the eradication of currencies for buying gears, players will be able to level up with a game mechanic closer to most online shooters, and there is already the unlocking of rewards and Honor Talents.
Gamers and critics of “World of Warcraft” believe that the plans of Blizzard are actually better than the current system in the game so the shake-up of the PvP mode of the MMORPG should be most welcome to fans and players.
Taken from a page of ‘Call of Duty’
Some critics also observed that the planned changes on the PvP mode of “World of Warcraft” actually takes a page from the book of the “Call of Duty” role-playing game franchise as it shall emulate the latter’s Prestige leveling system.
This means that gamers can no longer purchase gear from vendors using Honor and Conquest. Instead, characters who have attained the highest level will earn Honor Points by engaging in Battlegrounds or Arenas, and therefore increase their Honor Level, until the maximum of 50, details Latinos Health.
Once players reach 50, they will be able to get rewards including Gold, Artifact Power, and a brand new set of PvP-only Honor Talents, which is a special set of Talents that are only active when a player is in PvP mode.
And also, once a player makes it to 50, he shall have the option to select Prestige or reset Honor Level back to 1, thereby losing any unlocked Honor Talents. Those who choose Prestige will earn wearable badges with their Prestige Levels on it, a faction pennant, a new Artifact appearance, and a unique mount and pet.
Huge visual upgrade
While nearly everyone was talking about the big features that are expected to come with “Legion” including new zones, tons of quests, among other things, most gamers have forgotten about the fact that it is going to give a huge visual upgrade to the game as well.
Game developer Blizzard Entertainment disclosed that it will be significantly increasing the draw distances in zones to allow players to see much farther than they are used to.
Based on the alpha test copy of “Legion,” one Reddit user actually showed off some screenshots that are expected to come with the expansion of “World of Warcraft” and it really look superb and massive.
“Legion” shall also bring forth a ridiculous race/class combination in “World of Warcraft” called Gnome Hunters.
The class has been sought after by “WoW” gamers since the beginning and it seems that it will be more than just an X mark in the race/class chart.
Interestingly, Gnome Hunters shall be able to tame new mechanical pets. Those who have managed to play the alpha of “World of Warcraft,” cited for example that one rarer mechanostrider requires a gamer to create a special punch card that grants access to a close section of Gnomeregan.
