Macaulay Culkin Evolves from a Once a Very Popular Child Star to Becoming the Victim of Internet Death Hoaxes and Butt of Social Media Jokes!

Macaulay Culkin turned 35 years old late last month and his life very much tells of the evolution of a once very popular child star to becoming a person who is often the victim of internet death hoaxes and also the butt of a number of social media jokes, notes the International Business Times of UK.

Sometime in June, Macaulay Culkin made it back to internet circulation as he was compared to Dylann Roof, the alleged Charleston church shooter who killed nine people in a shooting incident several days earlier.

The 21-year-old Roof is from Shelby, North Carolina and he committed the mass shooting at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on June 17 in Charleston, South Carolina. The congregation is one of America’s oldest black churches and has long been a site for community organization around civil rights.

Just imagine the horror of it all to Macaulay Culkin. A little over seven months after he was rumored to be dead come the insinuations on social media that he was a dead ringer for an alleged criminal

The comparisons of their pictures even went viral and become trending on Twitter. Although many people were having fun with the jokes, others believe that the comparison was unfair to Macaulay Culkin who did no wrong to deserve such treatment.

Last month, Culkin’s past romantic relationship with Mila Kunis has officially made it to the list of the most shocking celebrity affairs, past and present, as enumerated by a UK tabloid.

The outlet listed 11 relationships that feature a complete mismatch, which is why many people have found it quite fascinating.

Macaulay and Mila’s past affair is listed at the second spot, next only to the current relationship between Ed Sheeran and Nicole Scherzinger.

Going into music

After retiring from acting at the age of 14 before deciding to return some years later, Macaulay found himself trying his hand at a rather surprising, albeit absurd, music career with a band called The Pizza Underground, that parodies the songs played by The Velvet Underground but with pizza-themed lyrics.

Culkin and his group are not gifted singers so their four-piece band are often being booed on and off stage, soaked in beer, and generally hated by fans of The Velvet Underground. But the former child actor was the one who actually formed the band back in 2012, fronted previously by Lou Reed. When Reed died the following year, Culkin and his band decided to carry on with their so-called music career.

Some of their music includes “Take a Bite of the Wild Slice” which is a parody of The Velvet Underground’s “Take a Walk on the Wild Side,” and “All the Pizza Parties” which was a comical take on the song “All Tomorrow’s Parties.”

While Macaulay’s foray into music may not have been the biggest low point of his career, it definitely sticks out like a sore thumb as something which has not been given plenty of thought before acting on it.

The years move fast

Many people still can’t believe that the years really moved that fast, still remembering Macaulay as the eight-year-old Kevin McCallister from “Home Alone” shown in 1990, cites E! Online.

Actually, he was already 10 years old when he took on the role of the eight-year-old Kevin in the first “Home Alone” film so as not to confuse the figures.

Aside from being an actor and a rocker, Macaulay is actually an author and an artist too. Culkin has overcome the tragic pitfalls of former child stardom that tripped up some of his contemporaries.
