GoPro Hero 5 Rumored to Come with a more Compact Design, Better Video Capabilities!

A lot has been said about the GoPro Hero 5 lately, mostly on the unofficial front, and the company is apparently planning something quite special for this release, as they want to make the best possible impression to their fans. The camera is supposedly going to come with various extra features that will help it stand out in an increasingly crowded market, something which their fans are generally happy about as there’s definitely a need for more distinction in their models lately.

Now that other companies have started releasing their own models of action cameras, some with unique, special features, the advantage that GoPro had with the uniqueness of their offer is no longer that special. The company has to put quite a lot of effort into convincing people that their product is still worth buying at this point, but it looks like this is exactly what’s coming with the Hero 5.

Official details are still blurry and the company has been keeping quiet about the nature of their product, but some specific rumors are getting repeated far too often for it to be a coincidence, and there’s a pretty strong indication at this point that the new Hero 5 is going to have certain features. It’s going to be waterproof, with an allegedly smaller frame and exceptionally better recording capabilities, improving not only its overall resolution but also the framerate that it supports for specific resolutions.

The small frame is something that fans have been particularly interested in, as the device is rumored to come with a much more compact body that should be easier to fit on most types of helmets and even other body parts, while it will be easier to carry around at the same time.

This will affect the weight of the device as well, and it’s supposedly going to be a much more portable and lightweight offer that should have plenty to offer for those who need a more elegant camera to take around with them on their trips.

At the same time, buyers can likely expect video recording capabilities in the 8K resolution range, and it might also be able to record 4K video at 60 FPS, something that has been enjoying a lot of attention by the community. Many people seem to want this from the new model and people definitely appear interested in the ability to record high quality videos at 60 FPS, but we don’t know what else the camera might offer in the way of recording capabilities.

Quality is the overall theme in this release, as GoPro are obviously trying to make this model do more with less, and it will offer features that other companies on the market may not even have in their repertoire yet. This should help secure GoPro’s position as the leader in this market, something which they have been struggling to retain lately as other companies have been making a lot of progress and releasing various special products of their own.

Waterproofing is specifically said to have been improved for the new model, with a much better depth capability than anything we’ve seen on the market and reliability that will blew the competition out of the water (no pun intended). This might not be that important to some people, but those who like to shoot their videos in more extreme wet conditions should definitely appreciate the bonus waterproofing and the ability of the device to last longer in such conditions.
