If you are fan of hour long dramas on your favorite cable television network then you might want to take a look at the wildly popular Outlander television show. Outlander was renewed for a second season of at least thirteen episodes and will be based on the second book in the Gabaldon series. Outlander is a dramatic television series that is based on the time travel novels by the same name. Last year, the first season started with sixteen episodes premiering on August 9th.
It did not take long for Starz to renew the show and now it looks like there is more news for fans to take in. According to one report about Outlander season 2 this week, a new cast member will join the show. Lionel Lingelser has been added to the cast as King Louis XV. He is just one of the many French actors that has been cast for the show as it progresses towards France from Scotland.
Fans of the show, as well as those of Lingelser took to Twitter to voice their thoughts. Many are happy that he was cast for the show and some have even had him chosen as the perfect person to fit the character. He has been a part of French TV for some time and is expected to fit right into the show. According to story lines from the past, King Louis XV has a “thing for the ladies and is used to getting what he wants” so that should bring more drama to the show.
In Outlander season 2, the two main characters are set to meet up with King Louis XV, according to reports. The main plot for the second season has been posted online and includes the two main characters, Jamie and Claire heading out to prevent the Battle of Culloden, which is one that ends the Jacobite Rebellion back in 1745. If you remember the last episode from the first season, you saw the two of them on a ship headed for France. Lingelser is not going to be the only addition to the Outlander season 2, according to reports.
He will be joined by Frances de la Tour, Dominique Pinon, Stanley Weber, Audrey Brisson, Claire Sermonne, Romann Berrux and Margaux Chatelier. Each of them has been fit into the perfect character for the show and that has fans buzzing about the new season. As of right now, filming for Outlander season 2 is ongoing. Much to the dismay of fans all over the world, the next season is not set to premiere until 2016, according to reports. Jamie and Claire will both be getting new wardrobes as they will be dealing with French court in the new season.
