No ‘Half Life 3’ For Fans at E3 2015; Fake Website Sends Hope to Eager Gamers

“Half Life 3” has always been in the talks in the gaming world. However, there are still no definite answers as to when this third installment will come to life exactly. Valve Corporation, the video game company who created the “Half Life” series, is not particularly known for creating a third sequel to their games. This includes their previously published games like “Team Fortress,” “Portal” and “Left 4 Dead.”

Unfortunately for the fans, it seems like Valve is keeping their track record of not creating a third installment for “Half Life.” They did not even introduce the game during the E3 this year.

However, there was a website named valve.software with a very enticing logo that stated “Half Life 3” is coming very soon. The site also has logos of Valve, Steam and Source. The site looked very professional so it has encouraged gamers to think that “Half Life 3” is really true.

Interestingly, the company responded to the website which was taken down afterwards. To this, Valve Corporation sent a hopeful message to their fans saying, “Maybe next year.”

Valve Corporation actually hints of ‘Half Life 3’ details

Even though Valve Corporation did not reveal “Half Life 3” during the recently-concluded Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015, a Reddit user disclosed that the developer had put in clues here and there during their presentation.

Mrturtleguy1, the Reddit user, said that at the end of the show, the panelist from Valve was talking about what they liked most. There was a kid who said he was most excited about Nintendo’s stuff, but the chat spammed, “Half Life 3 Confirmed!” The panelist responded by saying he is also really excited for “Half” but he interrupted himself before he continued. He added that they are not supposed to talk about that and then laughed.

There is also another hint by the end of the presentation. The panelist said that they already have the Valve VR coming soon and that Steam OS, the new source engine is also done. With everything in place, they think everything is looking good for a big release. He concluded that they are very optimistic this time.

With this parting notes, he did not specify what that big release will be. Though there are already multiple theories that suggest Valve is creating and launching “Half Life 3” after the release of Valve’s Source 2.

Another Reddit user offered a viable explanation on why the “Half Life 3” is not yet released. According to user Wuki, a Valve employee can work on whatever they want, of course on a certain degree. That also means a project can go undeveloped if there is not much attention being put to it.

Half-Life 3

The user also said that it is also possible that Valve is developing “Half Life 3” and Source 3 simultaneously. In 2013, there was a list created on NeoGAF that includes the names of all the developers allocated for “Half Life 3.” The list included Adam Foster, creator of “Half Life 2” mod “Minerva”; Alex Vlachos, one of the company’s main engine developers, Alexander Mark; Alireza Razmpoosh; Jess Cliffe, CS co-creator; and Erik Wolpaw, writer for “Portal 1” and “Portal 2.”
