Veteran Hollywood actor Johnny Depp is giving doubters on his recent marriage to Amber Heard something to chew on by putting on the sale block his 37-acre property in France for £16 million or about $25.41 million to forget ex-partner Vanessa Paradis and focus instead on his newly-wedded wife.
The sprawling French estate is a gargantuan reminder of Johnny’s life with Vanessa, whom he shared his life with for 14 years resulting to the birth of two children – Lily Rose and Jack, because he bought the property for her back then.
It actually cost the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor millions of pounds to restore the property when he bought it previously for Vanessa and his two kids.
According to Alexander Kraft, chairman and chief executive of Sotheby’s International Realty France, which is selling the property, Johnny had decided to sell the property which is called the Plan de la Tour to close the chapter of his life involving Vanessa and move on to the next with Amber on it.
Kraft said that Johnny was quoted as saying that he hopes that someone else will enjoy the property as much as he did during his and his previous family’s tenure in the place and bring the new owner the same happiness it brought him, reports the Daily Mail.
Johnny’s recent decision would somehow quiet down rumors about his marriage with Amber going through a rough patch as of late.
Denying the rumors
Without her saying it directly during an interview with Elle UK, where she will be gracing its cover for its July issue, 29-year-old sexy actress Amber Heard denies that her marriage with 52-year-old actor Johnny Depp is on the rocks.
She said that it is just that she is being judged by people from her exterior or the way she presents herself in public. Amber Heard is a Hollywood sex symbol and she has been featured more than a handful of times as part of the sexiest women in both the lists of FHM and Maxim magazines.
Amber said that there was no dramatic change when she married Johnny early in February because they have been together for quite some time before they decided to tie the knot.
She said that the marriage was a fairly organic process and it was not as if it was a rush decision on Johnny or her part because her husband knows that she is a fiercely independent spirit.
The actress also refuses to dignify rumors about the impending divorce and supposed cheating allegations by simply not talking about it.
She has been a good stepmother to Johnny’s two children by Vanessa Paradis, Lily Rose who just turned 16 years old last month, and 12-year-old Jack. Amber and Johnny even attended the 16th birthday celebration of Lily Rose held at Ago restaurant in LA late in May. Amber was even shown having good conversations with Vanessa Paradis and Lily Rose.
A public front
There have been rumors last month that the marriage of Johnny Depp and Amber Heard seems to have hit a rough patch that many kibitzers are saying that divorce is imminent for the couple.
Reports have been saying that the couple are just putting up a happy front in the public even as they continue to fight while they are away from the limelight and public view.
