Microsoft Unveils 1TB Model Xbox One: Puts in on Sale on June 16 Bundled with ‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’

Microsoft has just unveiled its new one terabyte (1TB) model Xbox One, which has long been rumored in the gaming community.

Aside from an expanded memory, the latest version of the Xbox One also comes with a redesigned wireless controller with a 3.5-millimter headphone jack. But the controller would be available separately and comes in both black and black and silver camouflage colors, notes Comicbook.com.

Although it has already launch the new model of the Xbox One, Microsoft will be putting it on sale on June 16 at a price of $399, which is similar to the cost of existing next generation gaming console from Microsoft.

The 1TB Xbox One will come out cheaper though as it will be bundled with “Halo: The Master Chief Collection,” the all-time favorite exclusive video game franchise on Xbox One. But the price offer is for a limited time only so gamers should take advantage of this opportunity.

But in order to differentiate the new 1TB Xbox One model from the current 500GB model, Microsoft has decided to reduce the latter’s price from $399 to $349,

Microsoft implemented the same price cut on Xbox One in November and December 2015 and it was the very reason why the Microsoft gaming console outsold its PlayStation 4 counterpart during those two months late last year. However, instead of sustaining the price cut beyond January 2015, Microsoft decided to restore the price of Xbox One back to $399.

The Redmondian company finally decided to make the $50 discount on the 500GB Xbox One permanent after more than five months but it is still not clear whether gamers will take the offer again in droves just like in November and December last year or get the 1TB Xbox One model instead.

Microsoft has also announced that the Xbox Wireless Adapter will also be going on sale this coming fall. The device would enable wireless Xbox One controllers to be used on Windows 10 devices including tablets. The adapter will be priced it $24.99 on its own or $79.99 if it is bundled with a controller.

Lingering stability issues

Meanwhile, more than six months after the re-release of “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” on the Xbox One in November last year, lingering stability issues have hounded the video game collection that developer 343 Industries is still in quandary as of this time as it continues to find ways on how to solve the nagging problems.

Despite releasing patches since rolling out the game in November last year to address the bugs and problems, game-breaking issues still persist up to this day.

In fact, it was because of the connectivity issues that has hounded “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” that 343 Industries was forced to shut down its first official tournament late in April.

While many of the gamers still could not believe that the Halo eSports league HCS still exists, the game developer was still running the tournament, which had two brackets – one for veteran gamers and the other one for novice players.

But due to a host of connection issues and party joinability problems, the developer was left with no choice but to scrap the entire weekend event.

The cancellation actually came amid the recent release of 343 Industries of another patch for the game which was meant to address its stability among other lingering issues.

Forbes even describes the disappointment that 343 Industries had with “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” as not just dropping the ball but throwing the ball down the well so dark that it’s still falling up to this day.

It does not need a genius to figure out that the reason for the problems on “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” was the complexities in matchmaking as a result of the combination of many games and the different types of playlists.
