The much-awaited first-person shooter video game “Star Wars: Battlefront” which is often referred to by gamers as “Star Wars: Battlefront 3” shall be focusing on epic planetary battles when it officially hits the PC, the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One on November 20.
Reports last week suggested that the release date of the highly-anticipated video game is on November 17 but game developer Digital Illusion CE (DICE) and publisher Electronic Arts rectified it later on to say that the actual date is November 20.
The latest public gameplay trailer of “Star Wars: Battlefront” was showcased last week during the Star Wars Celebration fan convention at Anaheim, California.
The game is actually the third in a series of similarly-titled video games that is why it is being referred to by gamers as “Star Wars: Battlefront 3.” In reality however, the game’s official title is “Star Wars: Battlefront” and it is technically different from the first two video games.
Planetary battles
Craig Mcleod, producer at DICE, confirmed that the game’s development team has been focusing on putting epic planetary battles on the upcoming video game. He disclosed that the Star Destroyers will in fact be featured in the game too, notes Express.
Based on the gameplay trailer, it looks like the space dogfights in the game will happen above the planets of Tatooine, Hoth, Endor, and Sullust.
“Star Wars: Battlefront” shall also have a mission mode where gamers will get to have a brief taste of space combat within one of its challenges.
Keeping fans on the loop
Jesper Nielsen, producer at DICE, has been trying his best to keep fans on the loop on whatever developments he can release or disclose to them.
He has recently given a few more hints on what gamers and fans can expect from “Star Wars: Battlefront” via the public forum website Reddit.
Nielsen said that they are discussing space every now and then because they know and can see that exciting prospects and the fun that it can offer to gamers for the upcoming game.
He added that he cannot just confirmed yet what are their plans for space battles but they will never dwell on it if they see that it’s not worth it. But if they see a perfect fit to make the game even more beautiful and exciting, then it is likely to be taken in too.
Nielsen added that if the changes or revisions were not adapted to the game when it rolls out on November 20, they can always resort to having it made as a DLC.
Typical with a dynamic game development company, they are always looking to constantly add new features to the video game which they refer to as feature creep which is difficult to avoid in the latter stages if they really want to come up with a very good video game. Still, Nielsen thinks that finishing and shipping the game is tougher than developing it.
