Those who have been widely following the American reality television series “Dance Moms” have outrightly noticed the major weight loss that star Abby Lee Miller has undergone and it is now very obvious with the current fifth season of the show.

Reports have it that Abby shed a total of 40 pounds and there are rumors swirling around that the dance teacher did not just lose it in the dance studio but actually through a recent and secret lap surgery, according to OK!

The weight of the fiery dance teacher has been the butt of the joke in “Dance Moms” as she despises her ward from eating too much lest they get fat like her.

Viewers really find it ironic, short of absurd actually, and also funny that Abby can dish off fat jokes against her ward and her arch rival Cathy Nesbitt-Stein as if she has the body of a ramp model.

Now it appears that that Abby is getting the last laugh in the jokes as she has proven that she can lose weight, regardless of what process or procedure she undertakes.

Lap band surgery

Lab band surgery is also referred to as gastric banding. It is a bariatric surgical procedure where a band is used to tie around a portion of the stomach pouch to lessen the space so it would be easier for the person to have her or his stomach filled when eating.

The procedure is often resorted to by patients who are suffering from serious obesity problems to induce weight loss because they are forced to improve their diets and lifestyles.

The problem with lap band surgery is its batting weight loss average of only 50%. The surgery also comes with high percentages of minor complications and re-operation, which is nearly unacceptable under typical medical norms.
