The mark of a popular star is one where even the littlest of things he or she does gets noticed by the public, particularly his or her fans.
That seems to be the case nowadays with “Fifty Shades of Grey” actress Dakota Johnson as she recently debuted a new short hair in public and immediately got nearly everyone’s attention.
As was in the hit Valentine movie from the erotic novel of E.L. James, the 25-year-old Dakota is more familiar with her long brunette hair. But on April 16, she was seen in New York City parading a choppy bob.
She was seen showing off her new do when she arrived at a spa in New York City for her physical rejuvenation appointment.
Hair-changer
But Dakota Johnson, even before she made it to the limelight, has been known to change her hairstyles frequently. Like a typical chic, she always likes to experiment with her looks, and that includes her hair too.
Before he got pick to play the role of Anastasia Steele in the blockbuster hit “Fifty Shades of Grey,” Dakota has also worn his hair blonde.
But when she was made part of the movie, she decided to go instead for brunette, and added the bangs subsequently to fit the description of Anastasia Steele in E.L. James’ novel, notes Yahoo! News.
A little too impatient
Mark Townsend, the regular hair stylist of Dakota Johnson, says that he usually abides by certain stages to highlight Dakota’s flawless look every time she helps her transform into a fresh one.
He disclosed that the actress has a cowlick so he begins with her bangs while they’re wet and blowdry her hair into the direction where he prefers them to go. Unlike other hair stylists, he does not use hair products on bangs because women touch them most of the time and that adds natural oils to it.
Townsend adds that he finished the treatment with dry shampoo, which is his alternative to a hairspray. The strategy, he explained, maintains the volume and freshness of the locks, while enable the bangs to still move. He disclosed that he is using the R + Co’s Death Valley Shampoo because it gives the hair a beachy and slighty chunky texture.
The hair stylist also revealed that Dakota Johnson often gets slightly impatient when it comes to maintaining her look. In fact, when her bangs get rather too long, she takes out the scissors and cuts it herself.
Townsend advises her and the advice goes to other women too not to cut one’s own bangs but in the case of Dakota, her work still looked great. He describes it as a little choppier than what he would do if he will be the one to cut, but it’s how Dakota wants herself to came out of it.
