Cheats have become normal parts of almost all video games. Most of them are intentional actually which seeks to give players easy ways out on certain levels or portions of the game. The intentional cheats are often referred to as Easter Eggs. It’s a secret within the game for players to find out while playing.
Some of them however are unintentional, mostly glitches that were overlooked during the development phase and launching of new game additions.
As one of the most popular, if not the most popular multiplayer video game, “GTA Online” has a lot of unintentional cheats, which players refer to as exploits within the game. These are exploits which they normally take advantage of to be able to get to the next level or do a mission faster than usual.
Exploits and patches
Since “GTA Online” was launched in October 2013 at the last-gen gaming consoles, it has been riddled with exploits. Rockstar has been ceaselessly patching these exploits in order to prevent cheaters from making a field day in the game.
Unfortunately, typical of a glitch, once one is already patched up, another one crops up especially when extra elements are added into the game. The cheats are normally discovered during the course of players being too exploitative in nature, thus the name, exploits to it.
So while Rockstar keeps on patching, gamers keep on finding exploits and taking advantage of it as usual.
One of the most recent exploit that have been discovered by GTA players and enthusiasts is the spawning of the Duke O’Death car, which was next to impossible in the ‘GTA Online’ universe, notes Fansided.
The Duke O’Death is the one of the most powerful cars on the “Grand Theft Auto V.” So when transposed to the “GTA Online” by mistake, it surely has considerable advantages over most other cars in the multiplayer version of the game.
Poking fun at exploiters and cheaters
As expected, Rockstar patched the exploit. But rather than doing away completely with the Duke O’Death car in the game, the developer decided to keep the vehicle. However, as the player enters the Duke O’Death, it explodes and shatters into bits and pieces, which sure would surprise the cheating player.
Many game experts lauded Rockstar’s creativity in teaching exploitative gamers a neat lesson so that they would not attempt at trying and gaining unfair advantage in the game most of the time.
Because of the nature of the game of the GTA, gamers will always want to take advantage of easy ways out or what is also referred to as unsportsmanlike strategies. The good thing is that Rockstar has mastered the art of solving and addressing these exploits with update patches and puts cheaters where they rightfully belong.
