‘Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice’ First Official Trailer to Come with ‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ on May 15

Warner Bros can no longer afford to wait until the Comic Con 2015 in July before it releases the first official trailer of its widely-anticipated superhero film “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.”

Apparently, the film company has decided to attach the trailer of its upcoming movie based on DC comics to the showing of another Warner Bros film, “Mad Max: Fury Road” due to hit theaters on May 15.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” is expected to be the outfit’s first major blockbuster this summer. And it will come two weeks after the release of Disney and Marvel Studio’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” which is another superhero movie.

Warner Bros would like to capitalize on the superhero mindset among fans this summer so that it will build enough interests and kickstart the promotions for “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on a very high note leading to next year’s probable first blockbuster.

Everything must be perfect

Latest reports also have it that the next official trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” shall also be attached to “Avengers: Age of Ultron” considering that the both are Disney movies. Warner Bros will be risking the trailer of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” being compared and overshadowed in conversations if it releases it before May 15, notes the Collider.

Accordingly, building the campaign for a very expensive movie has to be perfect in nearly everything from the timing, the competitive environment, and the impact to the audience. Warner Bros would certainly want its movie’s trailer to be the center piece of conversation once it is shown on theaters.

Showing it along with the trailer of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will make it share audience thought with another blockbuster movie and Warner Bros does not want that. While comparison may be good to some extent, the company would prefer that its film gets the attention of moviegoers and whet their appetite for its showing on March 25, 2016.

So even if the trailer is made in such a way that it would really amaze the audience, it is always better if it comes out alone and not with any other potential blockbuster film. Not that Warner Bros is afraid of the competition; they are just looking at the picture from the business standpoint.

Sustaining fan interest

Releasing the first official trailer of “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice” on May 15 will have the movie getting all the fans attention from the middle of May onwards.

Warner Bros and DC Comics can just further sustain it with the movie taking center stage again at the Comic Con 2015 event in July at San Diego, California, since Marvel is reportedly not taking part in it.

batman vs superman

Even without its official trailer, fans have already been talking about “Batman vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice.” The movie is one of the most searched and trending topics in the internet these days so even this early, it sure has the makings of a record-breaking blockbuster next year.
