Kate Upton Finds the Internet Horrible, Shuns Away from Social Media

More than 90% of celebrities these days have their social media accounts to be able to connect to their fans and also be accessible to the public.

The remaining 10% of the stars either don’t have the energy and time to browse through the internet and see what’s going around the business and the world or they simply got sick and tired of what they’re getting in cyberspace.

Apparently, supermodel Kate Upton belongs to the 10% and her reason for shunning away from social media has something to do with the second line of reasoning.

She already finds the internet horrible but she feels that social media has lost its art that she already thinks it has become a big BS, notes MSN News.

More for marketing not personality

In a recent interview with a fashion magazine, the 22-year-old model recalls that at the beginning social media for her was amazing and a lot of fun. She finds it cool that she can talk to her fans through social media.

She remembered also the time when she joined Twitter when it was just her and then she got contacts or followers. Nowadays, Kate says social media is not about who has a good personality but who has the best marketing. She thinks it was planned from the very start and she finds it revolting.

Kate believes that the internet is a horrible place and that she does not look at it anymore. As one of the world’s most well-known models, Upton has a very impressive 1.9 million followers on her Twitter and Instagram social media accounts. Her shot to global fame was fuelled by her appearances in Sports Illustrated magazine.

She has joined the acting bandwagon when she appeared in “The Other Woman” last year. Upton also appeared as model in “Game of War: Fire Age” mobile game app last year that was also criticized by gamers.

The face of Bobbi Brown, Kate Upton is not the only supermodel who has found social media more of a nuisance rather than a viable instrument to connect and reach out to their fans.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss also explained early in March that something has been lost somehow with fashion’s obsession with social media.

Despite her apprehensions on the internet and the social media, Kate Upton says that she still wants to be a positive role model to people in as far as keeping herself fit and healthy all the time and that she really works hard to keep it that way.
