Collaboration is the way to go even for big-name music artists. While music fans still have their allegiance to their favorite artists, seeing them with other musicians further fuels their enthusiasm and excitement for new music from their idols.
Popular pop artist Rihanna is one of those who believe in the power of collaboration and she is now telling everyone that she wants to record a song and have a duet with the equally popular Jennifer Lopez.
Although they have been friends for a while, the 27-year-old pop singer and the 45-year-old triple threat celebrity have yet to have a music collaboration project between them.
But they have already worked together as voice actors for the animated movie “Home” where Rihanna played the role of a teenager and J-Lo that of her mother, notes Yahoo! News.
Building on the rapport
After getting the opportunity to work together with Jennifer Lopez for the first time as character voice actors, Rihanna would like to build on the working rapport that they have established and would like to take it in coming up with a new music.
The “Diamonds” singer actually wants to have a duet and record a song with J-Lo that would be a new track for both of them.
Rihanna says that she wants to take the working relationship with J-Lo through a music medium this time and she is confident that the “Booty” singer would also love that and would not hesitate singing alongside her.
A slight apprehension
Her only apprehension with having to work with Jennifer Lopez for a new track is the eventual filming of a music video where she will surely be overshadowed by J-Lo particularly in the buttocks department.
Rihanna said she might need to put on some butt pads on the music video because at forty-something, J-Lo is still lording it over artists who are 20-year-olds. Rihanna finds it nearly impossible and unheard of and that is why she plans to keep up with the “American Idol” judge for their song’s music video.
The “FourFiveSeconds” singer also talked about how she was a troublemaker when she was still a teenager but her mother stood by her through those times and never hesitated in showing her the right path.
She said that despite having a very stern mother, she was allowed to grow, experience life, and taught her to learn from her own mistakes. Despite being a little too rambunctious, Rihanna said that her mother was very hands on in directing and guiding her.
Now, she is able to impart the same teachings she got from her mother to her niece Majesty. She is actually happy that Majesty would be able to see her aunt work in the animated film “Home.” She would love the thought of Majesty proudly telling others that one of the characters in the movie is her auntie.
