The third installment in the “Captain America” series, “Captain America: Civil War” has been picking up speed on its production lately, according to reports, in order to have it ready in time for the scheduled release date in May 2016. So far, it seems that everything has been running smoothly, at least according to the various rumors that we’ve been hearing from the production set – there haven’t been any unexpected delays.
The latest report claimed that the producers of the film are currently in the process of casting several new extras, and they’re specifically looking for people with South Asian features. Not many details have been given in the list of requirements, reportedly – the producers want people who are between 21 to 75 years old, and they don’t seem to have many other specific needs, which should give plenty of people an opportunity to try for the roles.
Even if it’s just a part as an extra, it still means being on the set of “Captain America: Civil War”, a privilege many fans of the franchise would absolutely love to have. Plus, for someone with aspirations to make a career in the film industry, even this would be a good stepping stone towards better roles in the future, especially if the new “Captain America” turns out successful. And from all the indications we have so far, there’s every reason to believe that it will.
The new film will be a sequel to “Age of Ultron” and the events that unfolded in it, which means that we’ll see the heroes dealing with the fallout of a big disagreement between them. Those who’re familiar with the plot line in the comic books probably know what to expect to a large extent, but there’s always the possibility that the producers of “Captain America: Civil War” may decide to make the story a bit more original and unique, and steer away from the one in the comic books slightly.
We know that Anthony and Joseph Russo are back in the director’s seat (or seats in this case), and we’ll see various familiar characters returning in the new film as well. There’s over a year until it hits the theatres, and a lot could change in the direction of its production until then, but it’s probably safe to assume that the main plot is secure at this point, and won’t see any drastic changes.
It’s probably worth keeping an ear out for rumors, as there have been plenty from the set of the new “Captain America” so far, and we’ll likely hear lots more over the next few months as the release date approaches. Hopefully, it will all be on a positive note.
