Winds of Winter Might Actually Happen in 2015, if Latest Rumors Are True, And More!

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions for fans of George R.R. Martin’s great novel series, as they’re all patiently waiting for “Winds of Winter”, the latest installment. While many were originally hopeful that they would get to read the new book in 2015, and there were lots of rumors that this was about to happen, it was later confirmed that the book is not scheduled for a 2015 release.

However, the author came forward to remind his fans that he’s not a big fan of rigid schedules, and this is the reason he hasn’t made any appointments with his publisher for the new book. Many fans interpreted that statement with a subtle hidden meaning, however – it seems to imply that there’s a possibility that the book could come out in 2015.

And now, we’ve just heard a fresh set of rumors which claim that Martin has actually spoken about “Winds of Winter” directly, stating that he’s in the process of polishing up the book and adding the final touches to it. This has led many to believe that they might get to see “Winds of Winter” by the end of the year, with October being pointed out as the specific targeted month of release according to some rumors.

Still, we don’t have any official news from George R.R. Martin about this, and we don’t know whether or not the book is really going to arrive in October. Some members of the press have reportedly tried approaching Martin on the issue, but haven’t gotten any comments as a response.

There have also been rumors that the latest book is actually not that close to completion, but that Martin at least knows how he wants it to end, and has planned out the plot very carefully already. This should be expected anyway though – it would be a bit strange if the author didn’t already have a roadmap for the plot development in that book, as it’s pretty standard practice when writing massive projects like that.

Winds of Winter

There is a lot of time until October, and knowing how much hype there is around the new “Winds of Winter”, it’s reasonable to expect that Martin will at least make a public statement about the current state of the book if he’s close to finishing/releasing it over the next few months. The author has been known to enjoy the occasional talks with his community, so he would probably not miss the opportunity to tease them a little bit. Could we even get actual plot spoilers at some point? Doesn’t seem very likely, but then again, the Internet has changed the way we get information about our favorite productions quite a lot lately.
